I love wearing white in the summer. There’s something evocative of summer days spent on the water, a cool drink in hand and a full day of fun, about white dresses in warm weather. When we were exploring Charleston in the early summer heat, I wore white nearly every day, and this tie-waist dress was one of my favorites.

I loved how comfortable this dress was. The oversized sleeves kept the sun off my shoulders and chest, while the tie-waist made sure that the dress fit perfectly. I don’t know if there’s anything more “summery” than a crisp, white shirtdress. It’s no surprise that I styled this with my go-to summer sandals, my white Jack Roger sandals. I was also carrying this gorgeous birdcage-style basket bag, that garnered a lot of compliments from other ladies around Charleston. It’s always so fun to be able to chat with other style lovers and introduce them to a new-to-them brand!

I was completely comfortable all day long, from walking down King Street to walking along the marina, shopping around town, visiting the Gibbes Museum of Art, and enjoying lunch at Basic Kitchen, it is the perfect travel dress. It was versatile enough for museums, shopping, and fine dining throughout the day, which meant I could spend the day exploring rather than worrying about not being appropriately dressed, or having to go back to our hotel to change over and over again. DVF has always been one of my favorite brands for comfortable, elevated dresses and this one a friend gifted me a few years ago is no exception. Check out their current pre-order section, where you can get a sneak peak at upcoming styles, and snag a few of your favorites before they sell out.
