If you’ve been reading my blog for more than a year, you’ll know how much I absolutely adore the Dutch cultural festival called Tulip Time Festival that happens every May in Holland, Michigan. The festival committee and an army of volunteers plants more than 5 million tulips around the city of Holland, which was established by Dutch settlers more than 150 years ago. I’m heading there again this year and sharing what I’m packing for a weekend getaway in the spring! What’re your tips for packing the perfect spring wardrobe?
Huge thank you to Lilly Pulitzer for sponsoring this post! You all know I’ve been a longtime fan of the brand, so this was so much fun!
You can explore my guide to this beautiful flower festival here and learn about the dozens of beautiful varieties of tulips planted around the city here.

How I Organize My Closet Part 1

In the spring, I opt for bright whites, floral prints, and neon colors. Given my proclivity for bright colors and bold patterns, it’s only natural that I’d love Lilly Pulitzer clothing. Growing up in Northern Michigan in the lakeside town of Petoskey, I was always surrounded by bright-colored shifts, polos, and shorts and grew up wearing the brand. I love how fun and playful the patterns are, many borrowing botanical elements from nature and elevating them by making them neon, and the clothes make me happy. With nearly 1 million followers on Instagram, the band has a huge following of women, girls, men, and boys worldwide who love to don “Lilly” and wear clothes that are as fun and loud as they are!
Living in Michigan, I find it challenging to wear my brightest prints and colors when I’m worried about getting frostbite during our long winters, so to me, spring is a chance to bring out my favorite colors and brighten up the world around me, just like the flowers that are starting to bloom do! This spring, I’m going to share with you my favorite pieces from their spring line, and I’ll be showing you how I wear them in the coming weeks. For now, you can shop my favorites below:

Since weather in Michigan, especially during spring, can be wildly unpredictable, I like to pack layers, like this popover, this versatile tank top, and this wrap. These pieces allow me to layer on or remove layers as the weather changes easily.
I never leave for a trip without my brightest Luxletic pieces. Not only are they comfortable, but they are also great for working out in, and they’re a great conversation starter, so I always include them in my spring packing. I know if I wear neon workout pants, I know I’m going to make a new friend who loves Lilly and bright colors as much as I do. I also always pack a bright dress in the spring, summer, and fall because it’s a way to express myself and have fun; plus, I love that most Lilly patterns like the pink dresses below feature botanical prints.

What are your go-to pieces for spring packing?
Until next time!

I just got back from Hilton Head and am going again in a couple weeks! OF COURSE, I couldn’t wait to style my new Zest for Life swimsuit and matching sarong…. I also packed my new fave shorts, the Postcards from Positano Callahan’s, and some coordinating Etta tops and tanks. I also packed a cool knit sun dress and my new Pearl Romper in Flamingle!

Ah I’m such a Lily fan in the summer! It’s not popular AT ALL in London though, so I don’t find myself reaching for my dresses too much anymore. I think I would stick out like a sore thumb lol!

I have never seen anyone where I live wear Lilly. We have long winters, perhaps that has something to do with it. I love the colors too, they bring me joy. Lilly Pulitzer prints are like Monet meets psychedelic.

It isn’t very common where I live now, but it’s pretty popular where I’m from up north! Maybe you can start a new trend!
