Since early high school, I’ve had a Pandora bracelet, and I’ve been slowly adding charms to it to mark major milestones, special occasions, and just because. Now that I’ve filled up my second Pandora bracelet with charms, I wanted to look back at everything they symbolize to me, why I chose each one, and the memories associated with them. One of my favorite things about Pandora jewelry is that it allows me to commemorate my achievements and celebrate my life in a tangible and meaningful way.

White Blouse Outfit Details
The Great Blouse, Amazon Pinafore, From St Xavier Handbag, Birdies Loafers, Silver Apple Watch Strap, Pandora Bracelet, Ross-Simons Locket
Black & White Ginghams Dress Look
Money Bag
This charm is the one I’m the proudest of, as it symbolizes my full-ride scholarship to the University of Michigan. Once I received word that I got the scholarship, I immediately bought this charm to commemorate it. I’d worked so hard to get good grades, learn other languages, volunteer, and give back to my community, so being recognized like this meant the world to me.
Airplane
My cousin gave me this charm after we went skydiving together! I also love this charm because of how much I travel.
Letter ‘A’ (Sold Out, similar)
This was a gift from my mother, and it, of course, represents my first name.
Brandenburg Gate
My husband had this delivered to our hotel room in Berlin to commemorate our first trip to Europe together.
Pink Flower
This charm was another gift from my mother and reflected my love for nature.
Turtle (Retired, similar)
One of my favorite places in Michigan, Mackinac Island, was said to be a great turtle by some of my family members and other indigenous people. It’s also a reminder that “slow and steady wins the race.”
Tea Pot
During my time at the University of Michigan, I lived in the campus’ only all-girls dorm, called Martha Cook. Every Friday, we had afternoon tea complete with finger sandwiches, small desserts, and other light treats, and I had so much fun with my classmates, friends, and Robin at afternoon tea. It’s something I always looked forward to at the end of a tough week and something I will always remember fondly.
Graduation Cap (Retired, similar)
This represents my graduation from the University of Michigan!
Elephant (Retired, similar)
It’s said that elephants never forget things, so when I earned my first 4.0 at U of M, Robin gave me this charm to celebrate.
Heart with Lock & Key (Retired, similar)
This charm used to have a key attached to it, but after Robin and I became engaged, I had a jeweler cut the key off, and I gave him “the key to my heart.” It’s now in a little shadow box on his nightstand, and he says he looks at it every night before he goes to bed.
Tennis Racquet
Tennis has always been my favorite sport, and playing tennis was one of the first dates Robin and I had together because he had also played in school.
Camera (Retired, similar)
I have always loved photography, so it’s not surprising that I would want this charm.
Mermaid (Retired, similar)
I grew up on Lake Michigan, spending much of my time swimming, walking along the beach, and volunteering in and around the lakes. Some of my friends and family joke that I look like a mermaid with my long hair and affinity for water.
Treasure Chest (Retired)
I like this charm because it reminds me that it’s what’s inside that counts the most.
Castle Dangle
One of my favorite things to do when traveling is to visit and explore castles, and this charm commemorates that passion.
Badminton Birdie (Retired, similar)
I had never played tennis or badminton prior to middle school, and the first time I held a racquet, I fell in love with racquet sports. That day in middle school gym class sparked a lifelong hobby that has helped me make some of my best friends and happiest school memories.
Cinderella’s Castle (Retired)
The first castle I ever photographed was Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World.
Teacup (Retired, similar)
This teacup accompanies the teapot.
Dumplings
I couldn’t find a charm unique to Tokyo when I was there, so I came home and bought this adorable bao charm because it was the first thing I ate when we landed in Japan (even though it’s a traditional Chinese dish), and bao are one of my favorite things to make at home too.
Leaf Safety Chain
To keep my bracelet safe should it fall off, I picked out this gorgeous botanical bracelet clip, inspired by my love of gardens and the outdoors.
I would love for my next bracelet to have more of a travel and nature or garden theme since those are two of my favorite things. I’m on the hunt to collect all of the castle charms they’ve ever made, but until I find them all, I love how this bracelet looks and that I can wear it with absolutely anything.

Everything about Pandora is beautiful…the sales they had I was able to buy my daughter and sister their very first. Both my daughters started a Pandora bracelet and my family has added their charm onto my bracelet. I started one representing my grandson and my new love started one for me. Next is either a ring or the O chain….I cant wait.
Annie Fairfax says
Hi Brenda,
I agree with you completely. Aren’t their sales the best? That’s such a sweet tradition to start for them, so many people (including me) love to celebrate life’s big events with Pandora charms, and it’s so incredible to see the different combinations people create and what different charms mean to different people. I remember receiving my first Pandora charm and bracelet from my mother when I started high school and it was such a wonderful gift that I will keep forever. It sounds like you have wonderful taste in gifts, as do your loved ones!
Annie Fairfax says
Hi Cyndi, I’m not a store, so I can’t help with this unfortunately. I recommend contacting your local Pandora store!
