During our recent stay at Waldorf Astoria Orlando, I had the most blissful time at their spa, Waldorf Astoria Spa, where I received a Hot Himalayan Salt Stone Massage, which was one of the very best massages I’ve ever had. The spa’s atmosphere was tranquil and felt like my own private oasis, because despite its massive size with more than 30 private treatment rooms, I never saw or heard another soul, except for my incredible massage therapist, Theresa. Here’s why I would book a trip back to Orlando, Florida just to spend a day at Waldorf Astoria Spa.

My massage therapist, Theresa, aka my new best friend (sorry Jamie & Robin, lol) gave me the most relaxing and peaceful hot stone massage, but with a twist. Instead of traditional river stones, she used hot, pink Himalayan salt rocks to work tension out of my neck, shoulders, back, and forearms in long, sweeping strokes.
The Himalayan salt stones, which had a gentle exfoliating property to them, felt so much warmer and more effective than other hot stone massages I’ve had in the past. The spa’s relaxation area, pictured below in purple, had color changing lights, and serves drinks and refreshments for after service care and lounging during standard service. Guests can order an entire meal to this relaxation room, as well as drinks, in order to relax to the fullest after their various spa treatments.
I can honestly say I’ve never felt so relaxed in my entire life. Theresa also gave me some great recommendations on what to eat and what to drink at Epcot (the Avocado Margaritas at Epcot that she recommended sounded odd but tasted phenomenal! – Thank you Theresa!). Plus, she told me how much she absolutely adores her job at the Waldorf. She was truly a joy to chat with, and was the best masseuse I’ve ever had, hands down. The hotel is lucky to have her, and my only regret is that I live so far from her spa.
After receiving massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, and other various spa services, spa guests can also book time in the Himalayan Salt Therapy Room. Himalayan Salt Therapy is said to have healing properties that help cleanse the skin and airways, promoting a sense of calm and wellbeing. The antibacterial properties of the fine particles of Himalayan salt that are inhaled as part of Himalayan Salt Therapy are also said to help aid in recovery from illnesses and as a preventative measure against becoming ill. Is this something you’d ever try?

Normally, the Waldorf Astoria Spa also has saunas as well as whirlpool therapy tubs, however these are currently closed due to current health mandates from the CDC as well as local ordinances. Typically, a guest of the spa could spend an afternoon or the entire day relaxing and indulging in spa treatments, the baths and saunas, as well as a meal at the spa. Hopefully the world’s situation will continue to improve and these services will once again be available.
Overall, this spa was one of the prettiest and most serene I’ve ever had the privilege of visiting. I adored my time here, and as I mentioned, this was one of the best massages I’ve ever received. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this spa. Read more about our time at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando and Orlando, Florida, here.
