Visiting Vizcaya
Vizcaya is an incomparable estate & gardens in Miami’s Coconut Grove neighborhood. Situated on 43 acres, it’s a great place to take a stroll, enjoy the unobstructed views of Bay Biscayne, and appreciate nature. Here are some of my favorite photos from our visit.

The Main House
Built in a Mediterranean architectural style between 1914 and 1922, the house is meant to resemble an 18th-century Italian villa. Complete with a library, sitting rooms, a breakfast room, a suite of bedrooms on each floor, and much more, each room flows beautifully, making this great home truly special. Out back, a barge of limestone acts as a breakwater. Due to saltwater erosion, sea winds, and tropical storm activity, some of the sculptures have been replaced with more durable concrete. They appear lighter in the photo above.
The Gardens
The gardens at Vizcaya are some of the prettiest in the nation. We could definitely spend an entire day here wandering every grotto, alcove, and grove.
The Verdict
Visiting Vizcaya is 100% worth blocking an afternoon in your Miami visit. Bring comfortable walking shoes, a snack, and water, and get your steps in while immersing yourself in nature.
