We’re heading (much) further north than we’ve ever been before in search of the Northern Lights, and even further north, we’ll see the Midnight Sun! Experiencing life where the sun doesn’t set is going to be a fantastic experience, and I simply cannot wait!

Baltics
Eastern Europe is a region we’ve only dipped our toes into before, in Poland & the Czech Republic. I’m most looking forward to seeing medieval architecture, art, and the breathtaking natural scenery the area is famous for. Plus, I’ve heard the food where we are going is great!

Hamnøy
Another charming fishing village, Hamnøy, was a great spot to rest, relax, and enjoy the sweeping vistas of towering mountain ranges, sprawling fjords, and endless midnight sun. Of course, it was also a great place to photograph wildlife, too!

A city with only a single letter, it’s the southernmost tip of the Lofoten Islands. We hiked, swam under waterfalls, and boated along the coast in search of puffins. It was one of the coolest places we’ve visited in ages, which is really saying something!

Reine
Famous for its iconic red fishing huts called rorbuer, this little village is nestled in Lofoten and was absolutely worth the drive. It’s also a great spot to hike, surf, swim, boat, and enjoy the incredible scenery. I could’ve spent an entire day just photographing the architecture!

Henningsvær
Henningsvær was our home as we hiked, biked, and enjoyed Lofoten. Centrally located between major mountain ranges, quaint fishing villages, & rocky cliffs with dramatic views of fjords in the distance, we fell in love with Henningsvær.

Lofoten
I have dreamed of visiting Lofoten for more than a decade, and this trip finally gave us the opportunity to see it lit up by the Midnight Sun. From late May to mid-July, the sun doesn’t set, not even a little! We made the most of it by hiking & exploring without limits.

Svolvær
Svolvær turned out to have one of my favourite hikes of our trip– Fløya and The Devil’s Gate. The views of the Lofoten Islands from so high up were breathtaking, and all of those stairs (more than 1,000 round-trip), plus the actual hike itself, were wild!

Tromsø
We flew from Bergen to Tromsø in the Arctic Circle. Ice-capped mountain ranges and brightly blooming flowers greeted us upon our arrival. It ended up being the perfect place from which to start our Lofoten road trip under the midnight sun!

My husband’s grandparents moved to the US from Bergen, so of course, we had to retrace their footsteps and see where his family came from. Norway’s second-largest city was full of wonderful surprises– I can’t wait to share more soon!

We kicked off our time in the Nordics in Norway’s capital, Oslo. Filled with fantastic food, museums, and plenty of fun things to do, it was the perfect place to dip our toes into Norwegian culture.

A place both my husband and I have ancestry, we’re so excited to explore the Nordic countries of Norway, Finland, Denmark, and the Faroe Islands. One of the first places I can remember dreaming about visiting (in addition to Japan & Scotland) was the Faroe Islands!

We love our Canadian neighbours & fully support their sovereignty, free from threats of annexation or invasion. It’s always such a joy to visit, practice our French, & enjoy the food, arts, culture, and natural beauty of Canada. We can’t wait to experience Montréal in summer!

Martha’s Vineyard
We haven’t visited Martha’s Vineyard in a good long while, so we planned an early season return to one of our favorite New England islands before I head off to the Nordics. There’s just something about being on an island that makes traveling long distances well worth the effort!

Watch Hill
A beloved New England vacation destination, Watch Hill is a place we return to again and again. White sand beaches, turquoise water, fantastic food & fabulous shopping make it a great spot for travelers of all ages. I’m looking forward to making new memories here with our friends.

Key West
The southernmost point in the continental United States, Key West has long been on our radar of places to visit. Filled with wild roosters, white sand beaches, incredible 5-star hotels, and delightful fine dining, Key West has it all. I’m especially looking forward to enjoying spending time with our friends.

Florida Keys
One of the first places we ever discussed visiting when we began dating were the Florida Keys. Now, we’ve finally gotten around to visiting! Our journey will feature many stops along this incredible stretch of islands, where we hope to snorkel, shop, swim, and explore this beautiful portion of the United States.

I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Miami. From fashion, food, and fun to gardens, architecture, and beaches, Miami has long since topped my domestic travel wishlist. I’m so excited to visit such a beloved, colorful melting pot of cultures from north and south.

A place I’ve always wanted to visit and the birth place of the Lilly Pulitzer brand that first inspired me to begin blogging a decade ago, Palm Beach (and West Palm Beach) are next up on our travel list. We’ve never traveled so far south in Florida, and I can’t wait to explore it!

Jupiter
Near Palm Beach is Jupiter– the go-to spot of those in the know, wellness afficianados, and the adventurous outdoors person. We climbed lighthouses, explored in glass bottom kayaks, snorkeled, went shelling, and so much more. A highlight of our journey.

I visit Boston, Massachusetts a few times each year (or at least pass through). This time, I’m spending more intentional time exploring one of the United State’s most historic cities focusing on the city’s offerings for more discerning travelers & those with an interest in reflection.

Cap de Formentor
One of Mallorca’s most iconic viewpoints, Cap de Formentor and its lighthouse are a place straight out of a dream. The white waves against navy water contrasted breathtakingly against the orange sandstone cliffs traversed by wild goats feasting on colorful wildflowers.

Miners Falls
Another great spot in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Miners Falls is an unexpectedly challenging hike (and rock scramble). The waterfall alone is more than worth the journey through the pristine forest. Don’t forget comfortable, well broken in hiking boots!

Kitch-iti-Kipi Springs
Visit a crystal clear lake fed by one of the fastest flowing springs in the nation and ride the manual ferry over the glassy water to watch free swimming fish below and uncommon birds like bald eagles and red tailed hawks soaring overhead. It’s one of my favorite places in Michigan.

Tahquamenon Falls
Another incredible hiking destination in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Tahquamenon Falls is one of my favorite places in the state. Unparalleled beauty, rushing waters falling over ancient stone, and some of the purest air I’ve enjoyed have brought me back dozens of times over my lifetime.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Carved over millenia of lashing waves, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore is a can’t-miss destination in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Lake Superior, the largest and deepest Great Lake, waves at passersby while hiking trails, beach spots, and forested picnic areas entice repeat visitors.

Empire Bluffs
Consistantly ranked one of the United State’s most beautiful hiking trails, Empire Bluffs takes hikers along 40-story-tall sand dunes overlooking elegant Lake Michigan. The white sand stretches endlessly, as the crystal-clear freshwater of the lake welcomes adventurers into its depths.

Central Michigan Gardens
Central Michigan is home to some of Michigan’s largest gardens. I loved exploring the rose bushes, winding grass pathways, experimental gardens, and canopy walk, one of the largest in the nation, that gives visitors a bird’s eye view of what’s happening below.

Yarmouth
In the epicenter of Cape Cod, Yarmouth beckons to travelers to slow down, relax, and reconnect. This was our base of operations for most of our time in Cape Cod, and it was the best place we could’ve set up base camp. With so much to do nearby, it’s a great intro to New England.

One of my favorite places in Maine, Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island near Acadia National Park is fantastic for sailing, hiking, biking, and enjoying the scenery. The perfect spot for nature enthusiasts, photographers, and adventurous travelers

Provincetown
The remotest tip of Cape Cod, Provincetown is a welcoming oasis of acceptance, natural beauty, fun, and festivities. One of the country’s top beach destinations, the endless stretches of shoreline made for the perfect long weekend journey to a place full of possibilities.

Chatham
A classic town on Cape Cod. We spent a wonderful beach day here, searching for sharks and seals, watching sailboats glide across the ocean, and searching for seashells. It’s a great spot to set up on the sand, as it’s almost never crowded. The sand bars come and go with the tide, and there are fantastic resorts in town.

Sconset
A gorgeous, classic neighborhood on Nantucket, this quaint village is the perfect spot to bike, walk, shop, and enjoy a lazy day. Fancy a spot of tennis? There are beautiful courts here. No trip to Nantucket is complete without seeing the rose covered cottages along the ocean, and the lovely lighthouse.

Cape Cod
The Cape is a classic New England getaway spot, particularly in summer. We visited for a week over my birthday and had the best time. I absolutely adored going from town to town, trying new foods, hikind, swimming, and stargazing on the beach. Next year, when we visit again, I want to create a road trip itinerary.

Newport
Rhode Island is home to some of the prettiest cities in New England. Our smallest state’s most famous beach town, Newport, is an iconic spot to visit mansions, light houses, seafood restaurants, and incredible views dotted with sailboats. We visit Newport at least once a season – see why!

Holland
Tulip time is my favorite time of year. Millions of tulips bloom across Holland, blanketing the beautiful city in fragrance, color, and texture. No matter where I travel, this is one festival I can’t help but return to year after year. A can’t-miss festival for any flower level!

Izu Peninsula
Our road trip around the Izu Peninsula was the highlight of our most recent trip to Japan. The views are unmatched, with tropical vibes that rival Hawaii and Bali. The best part? There weren’t crowds anywhere we stopped. It was also one of the most gorgeous places we’ve ever been!

Matsuazaki
The view speaks for itself. Sure, we hiked through sky-high temperatures, humidity, and alongside sharp drops, but this view was worth the trip to the opposite side of the world. I can’t believe we got to enjoy this spot, all to ourselves!

Atami
Located on the eastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, this famous hot spring resort town is a magnet for Japanese tourists. We saw few foreigners here, and the absence of crowds made it one of our favorite stops. Coastal views, fresh ocean breeze, relaxing hot springs, fabulous seafood and more await visitors in Atami.

Kawazu
Legendary waterfalls carved into basalt enticed us to hike this brief, magical trail through dense forest alongside crystal-clear, turquoise waters. Though it was more than 100ºF outside, the temperature dropped significantly along the misty, refreshing path. We loved visiting during our Izu Peninsula Road Trip.

Kyoto
Kyoto, Japan, is my favorite city in the entire world. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve hardly been able to sleep. Silent temples, serene gardens, splendid architecture, fabulous food, and unmatched shopping call to me. There’s nowhere in the world I dream more of than Kyoto.

Yase Village
We headed to the mountainous Sakyo Ward of northern Kyoto, Yase Village, where we spent the second half of our week in Kyoto.In the foothills of historic, breathtaking Mount Hiei, this area’s wellness-centric focus was the perfect way to decompress after long, hot days of traveling.

Roppongi
One of Tokyo’s most luxurious and upbeat districts, Roppongi has world-class shopping, Michelin-starred restaurants, incredible museums, and architecture unlike anywhere else in the world. It’s the perfect place for a discerning traveler looking for a less crowded part of Tokyo.

Osaka
Osaka is where one of my best friends from high school lives. We visited him and his wonderful wife for the first time, and they showed us a few of their favorite places in one of Japan’s most iconic destinations.

Yamanakako
I’d never seen such incredible flower fields. Acre upon acre of cosmos in peak bloom, sunflowers in every sunny hue, and zinnias as far as the eye could see took my breath away. I still dream of Yamanakako, and I’m eternally grateful we visiteed during peak bloom!

Hoshino Hakkai
We hadn’t planned to spend a day here, but it ended up being a fantastic spot at the base of Mt. Fuji to stretch our legs, shop for unique souvenirs, and enjoy a gorgeous, historic village. This was another place without any foreign tourists, so if you’re looking for somewhere off the beaten path, check out Hoshino Hakkai.

Hiei
Overlooking Kyoto, Hiei feels like a world unto itself. Atop Mt. Hiei is a gorgeous garden museum, a French-style café, shrines, hiking paths, a museum, and more overlook spots than we could reasonably enjoy in a single visit. If you want to see Kyoto from a new perspective, head to Hiei.

Mt. Fuji
When I tell you Mt. Fuji is the biggest single thing I’ve ever seen, I’m not exaggerating! Photos don’t do it justice. I’ve seen mountains all over the world, but none have dominated the landscape the way Mt. Fuji does.

Hakone’s towering torii gates, ancient forest shrines, gorgeous lakes, and towering mountains made Hakone the perfect day trip from Atami.

Fujiyoshida
Home to one of Asia’s most iconic pagodas, Chureito Pagoda, and some of Japan’s most excellent hiking, Fujiyoshida is a must-visit city. If you’re going on a pilgrimage to temples and shrines across the country, add a stop to Fujiyoshida to your itinerary. You won’t regret it!

Odawara
Odawara is an easy, gorgeous day trip from Atami. This seaside town has traditional Japanese sweets, a historic castle, splendid seaside views, and fantastic rocky beaches. It was unlike anywhere else we visited, and I’d love to return some day.

A gorgeous seaside day trip from Tokyo, Kamakura is steeped in rich history, complex cultural tradition, and natural beauty. We explored this darling village, ate fresh seafood along train tracks at one of Japan’s most famous cafés, and drank fabulous matcha as fantastic as Kyoto’s.

Japan’s capital is where we’ve started every trip to Japan. It has some of the best fine dining in the entire world, and endless things to do from interactive museums and futuristic gardens to unmatched shopping, cool landmarks, and complicated history.

Our journey will took us from cities and hamlets to islands and quaint villages. We explored museums, some of Europe’s best fine dining, and irresistible touristy spots. Though it was hot, we found plenty of ways to stay cool!

The capital of Andalusia charmed and captivated us. We dined in style beneath fragrant flowers, explored ancient gardens and palaces, and took in the incredible scenery. From hand painted tiles and gilded paintings to breathtaking architecture, we adored our time here.

This tremendous island was as romantic as it was adventurous. There was no shortage of things to do. We went beach hopping, tasted local wines, hiked a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Serra de Tramuntana, and swam beneath the stars. It was beyond our wildest dreams!

Mallorca’s capital is where many people’s adventure in the Balleric islands both begins and ends – but not ours. The gateway to the rest of our island adventure, we loved the unbeatable food, impressive buildings, relaxing sea views, and endless sources of fun.

Alcúdia beckoned to us from the first moment I researched the island. Past and present collide, creating an incredible mix of ancient, modern, and something in between. If you love shopping for locally-made souvenirs, Alcúdia will take your money and leave you grateful to have set foot on its sturdy orange cobblestones.

A beach lover’s paradise, Cala Millor’s white sand beaches, vibrant turquoise waters, and fresh seafood make it an unmissable stop on the island of Mallorca. Pick a colorful umbrella and apply sunscreen liberally.

Hiking the Austrian Alps was a dream come true. Cool, swirling mist contrasted refreshingly with the high temperatures while passing clouds shaded us, treating us to glimpses of colorful flowers, rolling hills, and stunning views.
