Tulip Time is a lovely festival that takes place each spring in Holland, Michigan, on the west side of the state, which celebrates Dutch culture, Dutch dancing, Dutch fashion, and iconic Dutch tulips! Hundreds of thousands of tulip bulbs were planted this year and they were absolutely stunning! Colors ranged from whites and pastel pinks and yellows to deep purples, reds, and oranges, and everything in between!
Tulip Time festival offers lots of fun things for everyone in the family to enjoy, including Dutch dancing, a carnival, festival foods, activities for kids like face paining and balloon animals, musical performances, a craft and quilt market, and a fireworks show, in addition to walking around town and enjoying the beautiful tulips. During the festival most businesses are open extended hours, parking is free and plentiful, and there is no cost to enter! Even if you’re not Dutch, I really recommend checking out all of the fun and unique activities!
I especially enjoyed the beautiful fireworks display!
To celebrate, I donned this blue and white pinstripe cold shoulder dress (only $18 and true to size!), a vintage style ark shaped picnic basket bag, and a few accessories including a vintage blue and white delft style Holland apron scarf featuring windmills and tulips, a blue tassel necklace, calico glasses, a pearl bracelet, and a classic vintage style watch! Blue and white is one of my favorite color combinations, so I thought I’d honor the Dutch traditions by wearing this classic color combo, but with a modern, preppy edge!
