Their selection of carefully curated clothing, accessories, shoes, and jewelry is so inline with my personal style that over the years, they’ve become my default when I can’t quite find what I’m looking for elsewhere, and I find myself visiting their website at least once a week. Q: When Is the Tuckernuck Sample Sale?
A: The sample sale begins tomorrow, January 26th, 2021. The sale will begin at 9:00am, CLICK HERE TO GET IN LINE.

(Update 1: The time of the sale has been continuously pushed back since 8:00am to 9:00am, indicating that they may be experiencing some technical difficulties, so check back for updates!)

(Update 2: After the sale officially started at 9am EST, the virtual line system kicked in. I was dropped in with a 55 minute wait time, but about 10 minutes later, my wait time had decreased to less than 20 minutes. The line is moving quickly as people are shopping, and the line system’s algorithm is constantly updating so everyone gets in as quickly as possible without the website crashing. We are so close to shopping this sale!)

(Update 3: 9:30am EST Website has crashed and people were unable to check out. The TN IT team is aware of the issue and working hard to fix it, so they’ve paused all movement of the line, and are NOT taking orders over the phone).

Q: What Will Be Included In the Tuckernuck Sample Sale?
A: There is no preview list of what’s available in the sale, but we do know that they will have thousands of samples, in tons of different sizes, of items that have never been mass produced, one-of-a-kind pieces, and so much more.

Q: What Will the Prices Be Like?
A: Generally, Tuckernuck items range from around $12 to $1,200 on a normal day, depending upon the designer who makes the clothing in question. In the Sample Sale, prices will be up to 85% off, meaning we can likely expect to see incredible samples ranging from $1.80 – $180, which is such a fantastic price point for a sample sale like this!

Q: If the Website Crashes, What Do I Do?
A: If you’ve shopped the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale, you’ll know that sometimes fans of the brand can be a little *too* excited for a good deal, and crash the website. Tuckernuck will be using a similar line management system to what Lilly Pulitzer uses to manage the massive amounts of traffic from their sales, so expect to be put in a virtual line to avoid site crashing.

If the website does crash, which could happen, since they’ve never done anything like this, and there are always bugs to work out with sales like this, be patient and continue checking the website to see if it’s back up. Q: How Does a Virtual Line Work?
A: If their Lin system is anything like Lilly Pulitzer’s, upon accessing the website, you will be put in a line, assigned a number to indicate how many people are in front of you in the virtual line, and given an estimated wait time. This means that the wait time on your screen will update as people shop the sale and leave the website, and will update in real time.

Q: What’s the Best Way to Shop a Virtual Sale with a Virtual Line?
A: I’ve been shopping the Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale for nearly a decade now, so I have lots of experience with virtual lines, crashed websites, stressed out fans trying to shop, and I’ve made some mistakes along the way, that I’ll share with you so you don’t make them too and miss out on great deals! If the Tuckernuck line system is anything like Lilly’s, here are some of my tips for shopping a virtual sale!

How to Shop The Tuckernuck Virtual Sample Sale

Shop with multiple tabs open, so you can check out multiple times, easily, and have multiple spots in line in case it only allows you to shop once before being placed at the back of the line, as Lilly Pulitzer’s virtual line system sometimes does.

Items in your cart are not reserved until they ship to you, which means your items could be cancelled if they accidentally oversell, which can happen when so many people are placing so many orders so quickly. Manage your expectations accordingly to avoid disappointment, but know that at least with Lilly Pulitzer, I’ve never had an order get cancelled. I have however had items disappear from my cart as they sell out, so check out often.

Prioritize your interests and shop those categories first. 
I’m not really interested in shorts,  but I am always in the market for dresses, shoes, and accessories, so I will check out those categories first, place my orders, and head back into the sale to browse other categories I’m less interested to see if something catches my eye.
