If you’d have told me a year ago that Tomorrow Sleep would send me a complete system to try out complimentary, I’d have thought you were dreaming! Okay, bad sleep related puns aside, Tomorrow Sleep sent me a memory foam mattress, sheet set, sleep tracker, and comforter to try out and share with all of you, and it’s changed my life – no joke. I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing my initial thoughts down to make sure it wasn’t the excitement talking, and I LOVE this mattress & sleep system! My husband and I slept on an air mattress the first 3-ish months we were married because we’d spent all of our money on our condo (and we were both still in college), buying dishes, and other things we needed to survive living outside of dorms/our parent’s homes, and primarily because we couldn’t find a mattress we liked. The problem was that I like sleeping on something very, very firm, and my husband would sleep on a cloud if he could. Maybe it’s a lifetime of camping as often as I could, or the fact that I never used to like sleeping with a pillow (I know, I know I’m a weirdo lol), but I couldn’t find a mattress that was firm enough for me and soft enough for him. After a few months sleeping on an air mattress (which I do NOT recommend), we stumbled upon a half firm half soft mattress and brought it home with us the same day. It was a definite upgrade from an air mattress, but I still hated it, because it felt lumpy, although Robin swears he couldn’t feel what I was feeling on my firm side of the mattress.
We just moved into our new home, and the timing for this collaboration couldn’t have been more perfect. After nearly 4 years of sleeping on our lumpy compromise, we needed something different, and we’d been talking about it for a few months. When Tomorrow Sleep and I got in touch, I just had such a great feeling about this, and I was super excited. The mattress arrived rolled up in a box which had me very nervous at first, because I didn’t understand how anything that could fit in a box would be firm enough for my liking, but anything was better than our old mattress. Well, anything except an air mattress that is. We opened the box with the handy cutting tool they included in the instructionsand found the mattress was vacuumed sealed in a cute little roll that looked a bit too thin to be comfortable, but once we opened the outer plastic that kept it rolled together, we unrolled it and found that it was vacuumed sealed and wrapped in yet another layer of plastic. After we first punctured the inner layer of plastic, the mattress started to come to life and “inflated” for lack of a better term. My husband finished removing the plastic and we let the mattress sit for a few hours while it adjusted to no longer being rolled up and it about quadrupled in thickness to the fluffiest, most supportive mattress I’ve ever slept on. Both of us love this mattress, but for different reasons. Robin thinks it feels like sleeping on a cloud because it’s so soft, but I think it’s firm enough to support my back and yet soft enough that I feel so relaxed I haven’t had any trouble drifting off to sleep these past two weeks. I know that I’m biased, so when we had family stop by to surprise us for Thanksgiving this past week, I invited each of them to try it out, and they all loved it! My sister loved it so much that she already ordered one for her and her husband!
My only complaint is that the sheet set that they sent us, which is queen sized just like the bed, is far too large for the mattress. We even put the sheets on our older mattress and it was large on that. I’m not sure why this is, and while it isn’t detrimental in any way, shape or form, I would recommend sizing down on the bedsheets if you were to order them. Did I mention how soft the sheets are?! They feel so silky, and they’re made of Supima cotton grown right here in the United States! I also just adore the bed spread they sent us, because it regulates our body temperatures. I used to either wake up because I was too hot (my husband is like a furnace!), or because I was too cold (when he’d pull the blankets his way in his sleep), but this comforter is the perfect size (a bit bigger than our other queen bedspread, but I love that about it!) for both of us.
After a few more weeks of sleeping with this sleep system, I’ll update you with the data from our sleep trackers, and if we’re still loving our mattress. I honestly don’t remember ever sleeping this well in my life. I feel like I’ve had so much more energy during the day, and I don’t wake up with a sore back anymore, and I’m so thankful for that! I’m also putting the finishing touches on decorating our new house, so I’ll be sure to post about how I decorated our new bedroom too (and my awesome walk-in closet!)!
Thank you so much to Tomorrow Sleep for sending us this mattress and sleep system to review. You’ve changed our lives for the better, and we are so grateful!
