I’ve been a fan of Tieks ballet flats for several years now, after being introduced to the brand by one of my sorority sisters in college. I’ve been wearing them ever since she gave me my first pair – because they still look brand new after all of these years, they’re extremely comfortable even during all-day wear, and they are versatile enough that I can wear them anywhere. You’ve probably seen them all over my Instagram stories and in past gift guides because they’re so comfortable and come in more than 60 different prints and colors to go with every outfit I own.
The chances are that you like dressing well if you’re on my blog and that you prefer to invest your money into pieces that will stay in style and last for years to come. Tieks are handcrafted in Italy by local artisans in a time-consuming process that includes more than 150 steps over the course of 3 days to make a single pair. Each pair of Tieks is made from premium soft tumbled Italian leather, and one of my favorite design features is that the uppers are made from one solid piece of leather. This means there are no sharp edges to dig into your feet or rub your feet the wrong way. I own 5 pairs of Tieks, and there’s almost no break-in time due to supple leather and the leather insoles. The more I wear my Tieks, the more perfectly they fit me and conform to my feet.
Tieks have a split sole design, making them flexible, comfortable, and easy to travel with because they can be folded in half and stored away. The back is cushioned and not held together with elastic-like so many other pairs of flats I’ve tried, which makes them extremely comfortable.
As far as sizing goes, I typically wear an 8.5 in shoes, but I wear an 8 in Tieks, and they fit perfectly. If you have wide feet or sometimes size up from a half size, I recommend sizing up when you buy your next pair of Tieks.

My 2 favorite pairs of Tieks are:
Ballerina Pink, $175:
Soft blush color
Made with Full-Grain Matte Napa Leather
These are soft like silk and had no break-in time for me
Burnishes over time as it custom forms to your feet
Beautiful neutral color that pairs perfectly with navy, other pinks, whites, blacks, tans, and just about anything!

Last worn here at Kew Gardens in London, England.
Golden Glitz, $235:
Precious Metal Print Collection
Leather is massaged with oils for 8-10 hours by Italian artisans
Tumbled for another 10 hours
So beautiful for holiday parties, weddings, and bridal showers, anniversary dinners, or any special occasion
Goes with anything
They also make neons like Pop Pink, gem tones such as Emerald, neutrals in shades like biscotti, white, and black, and animal prints galore! If you’re considering investing in your first pair of Tieks, I recommend going with a neutral you’ll often wear, like a nude, black, or gold. Then your next pair should be something wild and bright!
Tieks can be purchased on their website Tieks.com. Keep an eye on my Instagram @AnnieFairfax and here on my blog to see how I wear my Tieks!

You won’t be sorry! They are the best! I wear a pair every day! And, they still look new! ( Had them for a year) Each year I order two pairs!

Eek! The price tag gets me every time! I’m so hard on my shoes! I’ve tried several times to just jump the gun and I can’t!

I purchased my first pair of Tieks in the Fall (California Navy) and I am in love!!! I cannot wait to get my next pair – once I decide what color I want!
anniewearsit says
California Navy is on my wishlist! I’d love to add a few more pairs to my Tieks collection in 2019 – hopefully California Navy, Pop Pink, and Tortiseshell! Which ones are on your wishlist?

I’ve heard people wearing these at Disney parks but never really looked into them. I think I may now.

My ballerina pink flats are SO incredibly comfortable. The golden glitz took a little time to break in, because it’s a glossier material, but the supple solid leathers have 0 break in time – they’re incredible and would be great for a Disney trip!

I love the gold ones! I definitely need to check them out.

These look so comfy-perfect for teachers!

She has gorgeous feet! Do you know if she sells photos of them somewhere, or are these the only ones?

Best shoes ever. I own 14 pairs of Tieks, and I love them ALL. And my wish list continues to grow! If anyone is thinking about buying, they are completely worth the money.
anniewearsit says
I couldn’t agree with you more! I just picked out my 6th and 7th pairs. They’re my favorite flat, by far! I can wear them all day exploring the city and I love them! Which colors do you own? That’s such an awesome collection!
Deanna says
Currently, I own matte black, cardinal red, ruby red, metallic pewter, sapphire, white diamond croc, poppy, fuchsia, tortoise, mustard, custom pink that looks like cotton candy, custom multi-glitter, and two custom color-shifts.
I tell ya….. They’re like potato chips. And I do love chips. 🙂

I have to agree with you! These are the best flats (and probably best shoes) ever. I just returned from a trip wearing them while walking around old historic districts of southern cities and they even endured cobblestone streets! Great flats for girls and guys!
anniewearsit says
That’s so awesome that you love them too! Aren’t they just the best? They have so many color choices, there’s absolutely something for everyone (or in my case tons of colors I love haha). For the reference of other readers, how do you find the sizing compares to mens shoes? Do you have to size up from your usual size? Thank you so much for sharing!
FlatsGuy says
I have to size up 1 – 1 1/2 sizes. I wear between 9 1/2 and 10 in men’s shoes and 11 in Tieks.
MARSHA E GARRIGAN says
Wish they had 1/2 sizes! Tried going up and down…neither was a good fit.
Rita Floyd says
I wish they had half sizes also . I bought a pair a size bigger and they kill my feet.
anniewearsit says
That would be wonderful! Hopefully they listen to your suggestions and add them soon!
Suzanne Josey says
I believe they are actually made in China out of what is described as Italian leather that may have never seen a European shore. I’ve been trying to research their sourcing before purchasing. Its a little disheartening. Their advertising is carefully worded to give that made in Italy suggestion, but it’s sadly not accurate.

Thank You for this article! I have been looking into these shoes for a while, but cannot decide if I want them.?
Jocelyn says
I’ve been seeing this brand of flat shoes. Even a friend of mine got it but I’m debating, because i have bunions and wearing size 7. Should i size it up or stay on size 7?
mis0005 says
I just had to say, how smelly do they get like with feet sweat stains? and how stinky do your feet get if not??
you Know you should not aways wear those they an`t as good as you think, I wont tell yuo, because it would make you wont to throw them out or burn them. you would be so mad about those shoes then and out sad to.
