The Salt Market
One of the cutest cafés on Mount Desert Island, The Salt Market, is located in Northeast Harbor. We visited twice during our stay at The Asticou Hotel down the road, and each time the coffee and pastries were excellent. Well, they didn’t have any gluten-free pastries, so I couldn’t have them, but look how gorgeous my husband’s strawberry, rhubarb, and white lilac pastry was! It smelled great, too.

The Salt Market had a fine selection of globally sourced provisions, as well as super-cute merch. I particularly liked their sweatshirts, croissant “titty” tees, and stickers. Their branding was beautifully executed, and quite memorable. The colors were very New England-y, too.
