Biddeford, Maine, is billed as Maine’s ‘Youngest City,’ and this newly opened luxury boutique hotel is one of the freshest additions to Maine’s gorgeous and seemingly endless options. We chose to stay in Biddeford, ME, due to its proximity to Portland, Cape Elizabeth, and Kennebunkport, Maine. It’s only about 20 minutes away from each! It’s a fantastic central location, and this hotel is a gorgeous place to experience it all. Read on to learn why we loved our stay in The Lincoln Hotel’s Deluxe Corner King Suite so much!

Arrival at The Lincoln Hotel
Arrival was a breeze. We pulled up to the hotel’s front door, checked in quickly, and the front desk worker handed us a small packet that told us everything we needed to know about the hotel, from our dining options and the wifi password to a walking map of Biddeford and a list of things to do in the area. It was so helpful and thorough.

Ambience of The Lincoln Hotel
The hotel used to be an old sawmill, which means that it was plenty of natural light, high ceilings, and an awesome history. The decor is very unique and feels like an industrial garden but in a really great and inviting way. The Lincoln Hotel has plenty of live houseplants around, tons of awesome books on everything, from history and art to luxury design houses like Tom Ford and Yves Saint Laurent, and warm fireplaces all over.

Dark blacks and rich, reflective pops of gold add a touch of mystique to the space, while warm woods and relaxing blues welcome guests to relax and make themselves at home. I loved exploring the eclectic decor, the myriad of textures ranging from sleek leathers to plush velvets and everything in between and discovered new parts of the hotel like the lower level’s fitness center and the Lincoln Collective, a modern gathering space.
Overall, the hotel felt cozy and fresh.
Our Deluxe Corner King Suite & Its Amenities
We stayed in the largest hotel room type at The Lincoln Hotel. Our Deluxe Corner King Suite was not only very spacious with numerous floor-to-ceiling closets and tall windows, but it also had a king-size bed, in-room refrigeration, a large glass standing shower with peek-a-boo curtains, and a large bathroom, plus a hallway to store shoes, jackets, and backpacks.

On the fourth floor, everything was silent. We had a view of the river and the forests beyond it, and it was lovely. Everything about our Deluxe Corner King Suite was fantastic. We were comfortable, at peace, and invigorated each day we awoke here by the promise of so many fun things to do in the area, like exploring Biddeford, Kennebunkport, Portland, and the rest of York County.

There wasn’t a thing I would have changed about our room.
Dining at Batson River Restaurant
This restaurant had so many wonderful dishes, and they were more than happy to accommodate my food allergies and dietary needs as a pescatarian. Everything here was outstanding, from the vibes and the decor to the sustainably harvested seafood and presentation. This was a meal we’ll always remember. Read the full review here.

Final Thoughts on Our Stay
We loved every minute of our stay at The Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford, ME. We’d never been to this city, but it was really cool to explore and learn about its history as a milling town that helped not only New England but the rest of the United States during the Industrial Revolution. Thanks to its location between Portland and Kennebunkport, I’m calling it now that Biddeford will become very popular over the next decade. When you visit this area, book a stay at The Lincoln Hotel, check out their excellent restaurant, and explore gorgeous coastal Maine, a place that’s truly like no other.
