The Great(est) Blouse

I just love white blouses. There’s something so effortlessly feminine about them, and they are versatile enough that they can be worn dressed up or down for a casual trip to the beach or a night out. They’re a solid staple that’s earned their place in my closet. My current favorite blouse is from The Great, a brand that tells you all you need to know about it in its name.

This blouse was styled after a mens tuxedo shirt, with obvious alterations like a cropped fit, perfect for pairing with high waisted pants or skirts, a ruffle collar and sleeve details, and beautiful eyelet embroidery. It’s the perfect combination of boxy and cropped that makes it a relaxed yet put together piece that can be worn a thousand different ways. I’m usually a size 2/4 in tops and dresses, or a size small, and I’m wearing the size 0 here, which demonstrates how perfectly oversized this blouse is.

Even on an exceptionally foggy, rainy day on Mackinac Island, this blouse was perfect for keeping comfortable, and lounging around or walking downtown from Grand Hotel. Perhaps the best part of this ornate blouse is that its easily washed by machine, making it the perfect addition to one’s wardrobe.
