The Colony Hotel Palm Beach
Our Southern Florida road trip, which took us from beautiful Palm Beach to the southernmost point in the continental United States, Key West, began at The Colony Hotel. More a destination than a waypoint, The Colony is the epitome of hospitality & Southern charm. Every surface is invitingly bedecked in colors, prints, and textures evocative of a luxurious Floridian retreat. Read on to see why this is one of the most wonderful hotels we’ve ever stayed in.

Arrival at The Colony
We pulled up to The Colony, our doors were opened by bellhops, and our bags were whisked away. Inside, check-in took only a moment, during which we were offered all manner of delightful refreshments. Then, through a perfumed lobby filled with plants and rattan furniture, we were guided to the elevator and escorted to our room.
The only way The Colony’s staff could’ve done more for us would’ve been if they’d carried us! Haha, but really, it was an excellent, expeditious arrival– a welcome experience after a long day of travel.
Ambience of The Colony
The Colony‘s ambience is the epitome of refined coastal chic. Elaborate de Gourney wallpaper sets a playful, tropical scene in the hotel’s lobby. Native plants, laid-back decor, and unexpected extras like a wicker backgammon table, piles of locally focused coffee books, and a fireplace filled with houseplants made the entire place feel welcoming and laid-back.
Our Double Suite
Our room was SO lovely! We were upgraded to a larger room with two bathrooms, a sitting room, a hallway leading to a bedroom with a pair of queen beds, several spacious walk-in closets, and so much more. Decorated in gorgeous Schumacher prints, from draperies to wallcoverings, each room is uniquely outfitted. No two stays are ever the same!
Some of the amenities in our room included Society Social furniture designs, two televisions (which we didn’t have time to use, but still good to know about), a Dyson blow dryer & Dyson hair tools, a vanity desk, plenty of stationery, candied oranges dipped in chocolate from Ladurée Paris, Matouk robes, slippers & linens, plus so much more.
Oh, did I mention they have a lovely turndown service at night where they set out robes & slippers, then place a Ladurée Paris sweet wrapped in a delightfully colorful box upon guests’ pillows? Dreamy!
We immediately felt right at home and had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy our stay in Palm Beach.

Beach Butler
The Colony’s Beach Butlers will set up beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels. They can even bring snacks and drinks in a Yeti cooler for guests to enjoy on the nearby beach. It’s all the fun with none of the effort!
PUBLIC x The Colony Beach Cruisers
Bikes are available for guests of The Colony to borrow. Helmets and maps, too!
Boating
Fancy a spin on the Atlantic Ocean? The Colony will help organize a sail for a few hours or an entire day. Simply ask the concierge to assist.
Dolce & Gabbana– The Colony Edit
Italian couture is made accessible within The Colony. Their ground-floor lobby shop has everything Dolce & Gabbana, from ready-to-wear, shoes, and bags to cosmetics and accessories. It’s the perfect spot to spot if you forgot to pack something.
Gift Shop
The Colony’s gift shop, located near the elevators, is the spot to go if you want to take home a hotel-branded sweatshirt, keychain, or tee. They even sell other fun souvenirs there, too.
Pool & Poolside Press
The Colony’s pool is a work of art. Surrounded by pool chairs and tropical plants, it’s the perfect place to enjoy a dip, steps from the guest rooms. What’s better is that Poolside Press offers complimentary sunscreen, refreshments, and an assortment of magazines to flip through while guests lounge by the pool. The pool deck is outfitted with the Calcutta Collection by Brown Jordan, a gorgeous vintage bamboo-style pool furniture set.
Swifty’s Restaurant
One of the best meals we had in all of Southern Florida, Swifty’s, located right beside the pool, offers fantastic food without leaving the hotel. There’s even a nearby bar, which can whip up drinks, smoothies, fresh juices, and more!

Final Thoughts
We loved every moment of our time at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. Our pink paradise was the perfect stay from start to finish, and I’m so thankful we had the opportunity to experience it after dreaming of staying here since the inception of my blog.
