Tata Harper Custom Facial at The Spa at Woodstock Inn & Resort

I had an incredible Tata Harper Custom Facial at The Spa at Woodstock Inn & Resort during our time in Woodstock, VT, and it was everything the spa said it would be and more! The facial exclusively uses Tata Harper products, which are handmade in Vermont, and 100% free from GMOs, toxins, fillers, artificial colors, drying alcohols, dyes, soy, wheat, artificial fragrances, and harsh synthetic chemicals, making them some of the purest skincare products on the market.

During our recent visit to Woodstock, VT, we set aside a morning to enjoy Woodstock’s most elegant day spa, The Spa, at The Woodstock Inn & Resort. My husband opted for the Balanced Blend Signature Massage Therapy, where his massage therapist worked out tension from his shoulders, neck, and back that had been nagging him for a while now.

Tata Harper Custom Facial

I chose the Tata Harper Custom Facial because not only are Tata Harper products some of the purest on the market, they’re handmade right here in Vermont, and the company is woman-owned. I couldn’t have been happier with my selection because it allowed me to try 10 new-to-me Tata Harper products, all of which I love.

Triple Cleansing

To begin, my knowledgeable and gentle facial therapist, Kristi, triple cleansed my skin to remove superfluous dermal cells, skin impurities and helped begin to even out my complexion. She first used the Nourishing Oil Cleanser to remove my makeup, which is comprised of multiple vitamins. Next, she used the Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser, one of my personal favorites, which is described as a daily detox treatment, perfect for removing surface-level impurities caused by pollution. Lastly, she applied the Refreshing Cleanser to soften my skin and remove any remaining impurities.

I loved all of these cleansers. They were cooling, refreshing and left my skin noticeably softer, which was a welcome improvement from my normal fall skin. The products had a very subtle botanical fragrance, which Kristi explained was a result of the plant-based ingredients, and she reassured me that there are no additives or fragrances added to the products. Everything was all-natural and exceedingly gentle.

Skin Analysis & Facial Customization

Next, Kristi covered my eyes with an eye covering and turned on a bright magnifying light directly over my face so she could get a closer look at how my skin was doing. We agreed that my T-zone (the area between my eyes and nose) was a bit oily, but otherwise, my skin wasn’t concerningly dry or oily anywhere else. She noted that I needed a couple of extractions and that I had a bit of redness and larger pores on my chin.

She told me she planned to focus on balancing, resurfacing, and evening the tone of my face, and I told her she was welcome to work her magic in whatever way she thought best. She is, after all, the expert here!

Essences & Serums

The Hydrating Floral Essence and Resurfacing Serum were next on our docket to help hydrate my skin and brighten my complexion. Again, these products were so gentle, and they smelled so incredible. I’m generally very sensitive to fragrances (they can give me migraines), and my skin is susceptible to irritation from harsh products, but these all-natural products from Tata Harper were so gentle! It’s easy to forget that sometimes the most natural products are the most effective.

Eye Treatment & Moisturizers

Around my eyes, Kristi helped address some of the visible fatigue. Using the Illuminating Eye Crème under my eyes, she helped de-puff, de-stress, and lighten the dark circle area around my eyes for a more well-rested, youthful look. I loved how gentle this one was too! Usually, under-eye treatments make my eyes water from harsh fragrances, but these botanical-based products didn’t do that at all.

Then, she used the Repairative Moisturizer, a very lightweight anti-aging moisturizer, across my face, neck, and decolletage to help keep my skin moisturized, firm, and dewy.

Masks & Body Treatments

During my facial, she used two different masks on me, the Resurfacing Mask, which is a Bha brightening treatment, and the Hydrating Floral Mask, which is a multi-hyaluronic treatment. Between each mask, she gave me a wonderful neck, scalp, hand, arm, and shoulder massage that nearly relaxed me right to sleep.

During these massages, she used an ample amount of the Revitalizing Body Oil to facilitate the massage, and it was one of the silkiest, smoothest massage oils I’ve ever experienced. I wish all massages would use this oil! Would it be wrong of me to bring my own bottle of this stuff with me to my next massage? It’s really that amazing!

Post-Tata Harper Custom Facial Relaxation 

After my excellent facial, I was given a gluten-free macaron (which I gave to Robin since those are his favorite cookies!) and a deeply hydrating Vitamin C & Hyaluronic Acid beverage to help my skin glow from the inside out, which tasted phenomenal.

After receiving a service at the spa, guests are welcome to relax and enjoy the expansive spa’s extensive amenities, like the eucalyptus steam room, dry cedar sauna, outdoor hot tub, indoor and outdoor lounge chairs, and an assortment of gluten-free & vegan teas, snacks, and beverages available for guests.
