Bright colors are a must when summer rolls around, which is why I wore this gorgeous red linen embroidered maxi dress for a festive touch of red on the first day the temperatures hit 90 here on the East Coast. This dress from MERSEA is a beautiful blood orange red, inspired by travels to Italy and the Mediterranean Coast. It’s so comfortable, soft, easy to wear, and laid back that it just begs to be worn on a hot day poolside, while exploring a new city, or when visiting the beach of a farmer’s market.
Pool Day Essentials
Swimming is one of my favorite things to do in the summertime. As soon as it’s warm enough to hit the pool or beach, I’m there, making the most of the warm weather. Being from the north, the swimming season is generally rather short, but that’s part of what makes it so precious. I like to make the most out of my time in the water, or relaxing near the water, looking and feeling my best. That’s why I’ve partnered with MERSEA, a gorgeous woman-owned travel wear brand dedicated to sustainability and artistry, to share my pool day essentials!
Oversized Linen Button-Up Shirt
I love linen pieces for summertime. They become softer and softer with each wear, and they’re casual yet versatile enough to be worn in so many different ways. This oversized linen button-up shirt, which is only $32, has been one of my favorite blouses this summer. It’s perfect with a denim skirt, your favorite shorts, as a swim cover-up at the beach, or an extra layer when hiking. I sized up one size from my normal size in this shirt, and it was perfectly oversized. If you want an even more oversized look, size up 2-3 sizes for a cozier fit.
Summer Essentials Volume 6
I love summertime neutrals, and light, flowy neutrals. That’s why Summer Essentials Volume 6 is comprised of lightweight, billowy linen pieces, woven basket bags, bright footwear, clean beauty that I use and love, and other lightweight, summer accessories. I hope this roundup helps you have a wonderful, stylish summer!
Summer Essentials Volume 5
High summer generally means I wear a lot of white pieces, and lots of breezy, gauzy linen pieces to beat the heat. It’s generally warmer here in Connecticut than it would be if we still lived in Michigan, so being cool and staying safe in the sun is more important to me than ever before. I hope Summer Essentials Volume 5 inspires you to pick out some new favorite pieces for warm weather, or to revisit some of your wardrobe favorites, and get out to enjoy the sunshine!

Imlay City Lavender Festival: The Official Guide
The Imaly City Lavender Festival was a beautiful celebration of all things lavender. We spent a delightful day amongst 23 acres of beautiful, purple French lavender and took home massive bouquets of fresh lavender to use in cooking, cosmetics, and around the home. We loved doing yoga amongst the lavender, enjoyed lavender-flavored foods and beverages, and learned how to cultivate, preserve, and enjoy lavender all year long. Read on to learn how to explore and enjoy this gorgeous annual festival.
