I love monochromatic looks. They’re such a fun way to make a bold, bright statement, and dressing in the same color family makes it even easier. My secret to the perfect monochromatic look is to pick one or two colors (maximum) colors and dress around this theme. While the colors don’t have to be exact, the closer they are to each other, the better it will look. Alternatively, picking a color family like blues and blacks, for instance, and selecting different shades is another way to pull this off. I love wearing blue all year long, but there’s nothing quite like winter blues.
My Barbour Beadnell Jacket in Sage has been a staple in my closet for several seasons, and it pairs perfectly with this recycled cashmere turtleneck for a very cozy, warm, and comfortable autumn outfit. Read on to see why I love these pieces, and will keep these wardrobe staples for years and years to come.
I love to pack versatile, easy to wear pieces so I can transition from situation to situation easily, whether I’m popping into a café after site seeing, walking through gardens in the rain, or walking all day while exploring somewhere new, I like to pack with a certain color palette depending upon my destination or the season, or both, so that I can easily mix and match pieces with little effort. My Autumn Travel Essentials reflect this, and I generally wear browns, caramel colors, tobacco leather, and creams, because these pieces can all be easily rearranged to make numerous different outfits, which means I can pack less and get more out of my capsule wardrobe.
Green has always been my favorite color. The color of new leaves on the trees, the color of my eyes, and the color of moss and grass after a rain shower, there’s just something so energizing and invigorating about the color green, particularly when paired with earthy brown tones and cool, crisp white pieces. In this week’s installment of Spring Essentials, I’ve paired natural wooden and woven pieces, with light airy white clothing and pops of green accessories that not only will hold up season after season, they will never go out style, so you can bring your wardrobe out of hibernation and wake it up with this playful color palette.

I LOVE being organized. It makes life so much simpler, and it’s a fun to keep track of what I own. When it comes to clothing, I think my number one tip for staying organized and ensuring that I wear all of my clothes (not just a select few pieces), would to be organize by…
