If I visit a place that offers Afternoon Tea, I’ll clear my schedule to indulge, particularly when they’re able to accommodate my gluten-allergy and give pescatarian-friendly options, like Afternoon Tea at Astor Court inside St. Regis Atlanta in beautiful Atlanta, Georgia. Maybe it’s because while attending the University of Michigan, I resided within the all-girls dormitory Martha Cook where we had weekly afternoon tea, or that every place does it in its own special way. Still, I never get tired of afternoon tea. Afternoon Tea at Astor Court was among the loveliest and most delicious afternoon teas I’ve encountered.
Chai Yo Modern Thai in Atlanta, Georgia
Chai Yo Modern Thai is one of those rare restaurants that made me feel something from the moment I entered the building. A combination of excitement, intrigue, and anticipation, the decor was as beautiful as the food, and the staff were so kind and helpful. This meal was a highlight of our time in Atlanta, Georgia, and the quality of the food, the dedication to culinary perfection, and the respect shown to diners through each plate we were served solidified this as some of the very best Thai food I’ve ever had.
Atlanta, Georgia: The Luxury Travel Guide

Atlanta Botanical Garden in Atlanta, GA
Not only is Atlanta Botanical Garden the loveliest place in all of Atlanta for those like me, who love nature dearly, but it’s also a beacon of hope in a world plagued by environmental disasters, pollution, and a lack of scientific understanding. Equal parts research & conservation facility and pleasure garden, Atlanta Botanical Garden is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown while learning about and supporting the Southeastern Center for Conservation’s mission, “To develop and maintain plant collections for display, education, conservation, research, and enjoyment.”
The Spa at St. Regis Atlanta
During our wonderful week in Atlanta, GA, we stayed at St. Regis Atlanta and couldn’t resist checking out their world-famous spa. Complete with a Himalayan salt room, steam sauna, relaxation room, eucalyptus showers, and plenty of space to recharge, relax, and be restored. We had a phenomenal morning here. If you’re an Atlanta local or looking for things to do during your visit to The Big Peach, be sure to set aside time to be rejuvenated at The Spa at St. Regis Atlanta.
Canoe in Atlanta, GA
‘Tucked away, not far away’ is how Canoe restaurant’s website describes this gorgeous Atlanta, Georgia restaurant, and I believe that’s perfectly apt. Nestled along the Chattahoochee River, this restaurant feels like an escape to the woodlands in the most romantic way, with an emphasis on fine dining, of course. Here we enjoyed a beautiful meal along the river, fantastic conversation, and a wonderful escape from the big city feeling of Atlanta without needing to drive more than 15 minutes from our hotel.
