Summertime is, in my opinion, the best time to get outside and do things! I love swimming, hiking, gardening, sailing, traveling, strolling the beach, going for morning walks, biking, canoeing, and so much more, but nothing quite beats a day at the pool. Here’s what to wear to the pool this summer to stay cool, comfortable, and safe in the sun.
Swimming and summer go hand in hand. When I visited Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan, recently, I spent a glorious afternoon (read: three) swimming and lounging by Grand Hotel’s new pool deck. It had some of the most magnificent views, not to mention how aesthetically pleasing all of the blues and yellows were. This…
Swimming is one of my favorite things to do in the summertime. As soon as it’s warm enough to hit the pool or beach, I’m there, making the most of the warm weather. Being from the north, the swimming season is generally rather short, but that’s part of what makes it so precious. I like to make the most out of my time in the water, or relaxing near the water, looking and feeling my best. That’s why I’ve partnered with MERSEA, a gorgeous woman-owned travel wear brand dedicated to sustainability and artistry, to share my pool day essentials!
Newport, Rhode Island, is one of my favorite places on the East Coast. It’s so beautiful, and there’s so much to do, plus it has some of the nicest beaches I’ve visited in New England. So, when my best friend came to visit last minute, we headed to my favorite beach to introduce her to the area! My favorite public beach to swim, relax, or read at is Easton’s Beach, also known as First Beach. Its beautiful white sand, clear blue water, and excellent public facilities make it the best spot to enjoy the beautiful weather.
I love dresses more than any other garment. If I could, I’d wear them all year long. I particularly love when they’re soft, sustainably made, and have pockets. Enter the Aaliyah Midi Dress. It’s so lovely, lightweight, and well-made from sustainable organic cotton that it feels like a dream. This dress is flowy, laid-back, and so versatile. It could be worn as a cover-up at the beach or out for dinner, and everything in between, which is how I know I’ll take this with me on my next journey.
Today’s post is just a quick little outfit of the day post, featuring this lovely Juliet Dunn dress that I’ve worn several times this summer already. The silhouette of this peachy pink summer dress (also available in white and lemon yellow) is just so feminine and timeless; I’m sure I’ll love this dress for years to…
These 7 gorgeous, clean, and refreshing Michigan beaches are perfect for picnics on the beach, swimming, wake boarding, or walking the shore at sunset. From Northern Michigan to the West Coast of the state, there are dozens of incredible beaches worth visiting, but here are my 7 favorite!
Tulum, Mexico is one of my favorite places we’ve ever visited. I loved exploring the jungle, the beaches, and the bustling downtown shopping district while we were in this eco-chic paradise. While in Tulum, we stayed at Sanará, Azulik, and Zamna, three very different hotel experiences. While we were in Tulum, we of course spent lots of time at the beach, since both Sanará and Azulik were on the water, and I had a lot of fun styling my various swimsuits to match the bright colors of the Yucatan Peninsula. Here’s what I wore to the beach in Tulum.
