I’ve always loved blazers and skirts for fall, so this collegiate striped blazer outfit was not only comfortable but also a sign of the changing seasons as the days become shorter, the weather becomes cooler, and I begin reaching for more layering pieces.

Striped Collegiate Blazer
When I was getting dressed today, Robin convinced me I needed a tie with my outfit, and honestly, I agree with him! I put it on partway through the day and received so many compliments, plus it made me feel much more put together. I took photos both with and without the tie, since we were headed home after taking these photos, so I could try to decide which way I liked it better.
Without the tie, the outfit is still super cute and easy to throw on, but it seemed to be missing something with all of the white down the center. The tie, which is a YSL tie I borrowed from my husband and his behest, was a fun contrast of polka dots to the stripes in my blazer while staying within the same color family.

Speaking of coordinating colors, I wore my silver Tieks, last seen here, which complimented the silver buttons and silver beadwork on the crest of my blazer. We live near some private academies here in Connecticut, and the student’s fall uniforms are somewhat similar to this outfit, which many other townsfolk seem to emulate as well, which was partly my inspiration for this look.
I’ve always loved blazers and skirts for fall, so this was not only a fun nod to our new area but also a sign of the changing of the seasons that are nearly upon us. While I don’t love the cold weather, I love any excuse to dig out my favorite coats, jackets, blazers, and cardigans and to dress in cozy layers. I plan to post a lot more of my fall outfits in the coming months, particularly as the leaves begin to change here in New England, so get ready to layer with me!
