Did you know I was an apprentice herbalist for a year and a half? It’s true! I studied under a local herbalist during my first year and a half in college. I developed this recipe for my Rose & Vanilla Relaxer with summertime in mind, but it can also be made hot. Check the recipe for guidelines on that. I selected rose powder and rose petals in this beverage for their purported mood and mindset benefits. It’s believed that roses help uplift, encourage, and ease anxiety. I know I need all the roses I can get in my life! Vanilla adds a robust depth to the drink, while Anima Mundi’s Relax tonic features lemon balm, lavender, passionflower, ashwagandha, and chamomile to help reduce stress and aid in restful sleep.

This recipe is vegan and perfect to drink before bed! I love having this after an excellent yoga session and shower!

Rose & Vanilla Relax Recipe – Makes 2 Servings

Ingredients:

2 Cups of Milk Alternative (I used Almond Milk)

1 Teaspoon Coco Cream Powder

1 Teaspoon Rose Powder

1/4 Teaspoon Vanilla Powder

16-30 Drops of Relax Tonic (This tastes beautiful! Add more for a stronger floral flavor! ~50 Drops is one dropper-full)

Handful of Ice

Rose Petals

Whisk, Bowl, Cups

How to Make

  1. In a bowl or large glass, add 2 cups of milk alternative.
  2. Whisk in coco cream powder, rose powder, and vanilla powder.
  3. Whisk until smooth
  4. Add Relax Tonic to taste
  5. Pour into ice-filled glasses
  6. Top with rose petals
  7. Enjoy!

To make this hot, heat the milk alternative to a point just before it boils. Directions vary based on the type of milk used. Skip the ice and pour it into a mug. Add Cocoa powder for a chocolatey, floral delight perfect for colder months!
