Thank you Rael for sponsoring this post, and introducing me to my new favorite hygiene products!
Did you know that traditional feminine hygiene products are full of pesticides, bleaching agents, hormone altering chemicals, and lots of other harmful things? Rael is changing the feminine hygiene brand by offering organic, gentle, ethical, and eco-friendly hygiene and beauty products, and I am proud to be partnering with them to help encourage women and girls to ditch the chemicals and get Rael! I double majored in Earth Science and Environmental Science at the University of Michigan, and had taken toxicology classes, so I was aware that feminine hygiene products like pads, panty liners, and tampons can be really detrimental to not only the environment, but health of the women and girls using it, because they typically contain harmful chemicals like phthalates, pesticides, chlorine (it’s how pads and tampons are bleached white), dioxins, and other endocrine (hormone) disruptors. When Rael asked to work with me on a series of blog posts, I couldn’t say yes fast enough!
Rael has created a complete line of feminine hygiene products including liners, pads for all needs, tampons, washes, wipes, and even face masks, without all of the harmful chemicals and compounds found in brands currently on store shelves. They sent me a number of their products to try before committing to working with them and they are the best products I’ve ever tried! Not only are they gentle on sensitive skin, but they are made with organic cotton and free from pesticides and other chemicals, and the cotton is grown in ethical growing conditions where workers are paid a fair wage. If you’re interested in reading about how unsafe and unregulated regular pads/tampons/feminine hygiene products are, this article from Time Magazine is a great read.
If you’ve ever read any of my blog posts, you know that I never recommend products or brands I don’t use myself, and completely believe in. Rael is one of the brands that has made the cut, and that I’ve fallen in love with, because I believe women deserve the best care during every time of the month, and that we deserve better than harmful chemicals. Rael is made for women, by women, in small batches, so that they can listen to customer feedback and make changes with each product run. I’ve tried all of their products, and there hasn’t been anything I haven’t loved. I feel at ease knowing that having my period doesn’t mean I will be exposing myself to dangerous, harsh chemicals.
To get a better feel for the brand, check out their Instagram, and shop their products below. I think you’re really going to love these; I don’t think I’ll ever use anything else. If you make a purchase through links on my blog, I may make a small commission, which helps maintain my website.
Have you ever tried Rael products? Are you interested in switching to cleaner feminine hygiene products? Let me know what you think in the comments below, and keep an eye out for more reviews on individual products form my new favorite, female-oriented brand!
