Winter fashion is so much fun, because it allows me to stay cozy in cute, oversized sweaters like this one from Shop Hope’s Boutique. After seeing all of the lovely pearls that dot the sweater, along with the lovely open bow sleeve detailing, I couldn’t get this sweater in my cart fast enough! Of course, it wasn’t enough pearls for me, so I added a pearl necklace, a pearl sash, and pearl earrings as well as flats the color and sheen of pearls (not pictured). I absolutely adore subtle yet bright details like the pearls on this piece, and since I ordered it I’ve worn it half a dozen times! For size reference, I’m 5’7″ and wear a 4/6 in dresses and I’m wearing the medium here for a more oversized fit that I prefer in colder weather. My white linen ruffle skirt was from J. Crew over this past summer, and my jewelry was all given to me by my husband or passed down from other family members. I’ve also been carrying my round metal handbag by From St. Xavier for months now, and I’m still not tired of it! There’s just something about it that keeps me reaching for it day after day. Do you have any closet staples that you find yourself wearing time and time again?
We’re all moved into our new house and I’m finally able to start decorating the way I want, now that we have our basics unpacked and our furniture situated the way we want. I’ve been looking for new things to do in our new town, and while googling things to do in the area (is there any better way to see what’s what in a new place?) I found a Pure Barre studio just a few miles from home! I’ve heard so many awesome things about it from friends and family who have taken classes, but I also know it takes a number of classes to get the hang of how things flow in class, and it takes awhile to grasp the proper form. Today I’m taking my very first Pure Barre class and I’ll be the first to admit I’m pretty nervous! I took ballet classes when I was a little girl for roughly 5 years up in Petoskey, MI, but I haven’t done anything dance-y since then. Evidently no dancing experience is required to be successful whatsoever, so I’m just going into it with an open mind and I’m going to do my best. The classes are meant for all experience levels and individuals can tailor each class to their own fitness and experience level. I’m in decent shape but I’d really like to get stronger, tone-up, and become more flexible, which is what Pure Barre is all about, so I can’t wait to get started! Of course, I’ll tell you all about it and post regular updates on my progress/thoughts/etc. Have you ever taken Pure Barre classes? If so, what advice would you give a first-timer?
I’m having some issues with my computer not accepting the form of my CF memory cards, which means that I can’t use my new camera to record in 60FPS 4K HD video, which is a huge reason why I upgraded my equipment in the first place. I’ve tried 6 different memory cards, 3 different card readers and even taken my computer in to an Apple repair place to see if we could figure out what’s going on, but so far I’m no closer to making 4k videos than I was before I upgraded all of my equipment. I know I could just film my videos with my old camera, but I don’t want to continue creating content that isn’t my best, if that makes sense. Hopefully I can have everything figured out by the new year so that I can start making even better content!
You can shop a similar look to the one above, below! Please note that if you click a link on my blog and make a purchase, I may make a small commission form it which I then use to run my website.
Until next time!
