10 multi-story greenhouses, numerous acres of trees, flowers, bushes, fountains, and beautiful walkways make up the beautiful PalmenGarten Frankfurt. For only €7, this greenhouse complex is an absolute must-see! The buildings house things from native flowers and plants to tropical gardens and arid desert-scapes and gorgeous rooms full of flowerbeds.
This was the first of many greenhouses on the property at PalmenGarten Frankfurt, and I will post more tomorrow about our travels in Germany. We’ve been having such a wonderful time here, and it’s been so much fun to explore so many new places with Robin. I just love practicing speaking German, trying new foods, seeing so many new things, and meeting so many wonderful people. Everyone in Germany has been so kind and welcoming; it feels like we’ve lived here our whole lives.
At first, I was a bit nervous about spending so many months in Europe because I wasn’t sure if I’d feel homesick or not, but so far, I really don’t want to go back to the States. We’ve been able to see and do so many things until now I’ve only ever read about, and our adventure is really just beginning. I can’t wait to head to France, Belgium, Italy, and Switzerland soon; I know we will have a wonderful time. Robin’s grandparents moved to the US from Switzerland, so it should be really cool to go and meet some of his relatives. Maybe one day, we will get to live abroad in Switzerland or somewhere nearby, and his family will have come full circle.
