If you want comfortable, well-made clothes that are sustainably made from organic cotton from a woman-owned company with ethical production standards, use code WELCOME25 for 25% off! Here’s the first dress I’ll share, the Cleo in Vineyard.
Hiking in a Cloud Along Sky Top Trail
During our stay at Mohonk Mountain House in New York’s Hudson Valley, we hiked the famous Sky Top Trail during heavy fog, which is just a low-lying stratus cloud. So, as we hiked higher into the mountains, the visible distance drastically decreased. At one point, we could hardly see our hands in front of our faces. I tried to take photos of this, but as you can imagine, it didn’t turn out super well because everything was so white and milky, haha. Still, here are some of my favorite shots from our gorgeous hike, which eventually cleared up enough to take some really pretty photos.
Blockprint Maxi in Organic Cotton
Clara the Label, Victoria Dunn’s new sister brand, is handmade in Jaipur, India, using traditional block printing techniques, organic cotton, and comfortable cuts. The colors are so vibrant, the fabric is soft, and the fits are super comfortable, particularly in the heat. I wore this gorgeous Hazel Blockprint Maxi, which is only $50, during our visit to Mohonk Mountain House in Hudson Valley, NY, and it was the perfect companion from breakfast by the lake and a walk around the property to a dip in the pool and lounging poolside. Use code WELCOME25 to take 25% off your entire purchase from Clara the Label. That makes my dress only $37.50!
Mohonk Mountain House in Hudson Valley, NY
Think of the best aspects of an eco-friendly summer camp, but geared towards adults (or the entire family), and you’re likely picturing something pretty close to Mohonk Mountain House. This charming luxury resort was the ultimate weekend getaway in New Paltz, NY, in the Hudson Valley. We had individualized tennis coaching, paddle boarded, hiked, canoed, took an archery lesson, did three different kinds of yoga, hiked all around the property, ate world-class food, went swimming, and had a fantastic time! I can’t wait to tell you all about how we spent our rainy weekend in my Mohonk Mountain House Review!
Starry Night Style
There’s something so fun about dressing for a theme, and today’s outfit’s theme is starry night style! I’m wearing a black dress with cutouts (this runs small, so consider sizing up) with gold jewelry and gold accents.
Lilly Pulitzer Men’s Shorts
Robin owns most Lilly Pulitzer shorts that have ever been made, and sometimes we coordinate our outfits. This time we wore all blue together, and he always gets lots of compliments whenever he wears them. I like the way he paired his blues in such a summery way. Click Here to see more outfits. Outfit…
Juliet Dunn Neon Peach Embroidered Dress
I’ve worn plenty of Juliet Dunn dresses on my blog, but this is one of my favorites. It’s so bright and colorful, plus the contrasting neon peach and bright purple make for a bold statement. The tie-shoulder dress makes it adjustable and easy to toss on. Here’s how I styled this one!
What We Ate at Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, MI
One of my favorite things about Grand Hotel is how excellent the food consistently is. I’ve never had a single bad dish here, and everything looks almost as wonderful as it tastes. That’s why I wanted to share some food highlights from our most recent visit and show you what we ate at Grand Hotel. I get hungry just thinking about how great everything we ate here was, and though I didn’t photograph it all, it was all 10/10!
Gluten-Free Afternoon Tea at Grand Hotel
Afternoon tea is a great excuse to slow down and enjoy life, particularly when you’re a busy, active traveler. It’s a bit more challenging if you can’t eat gluten since most afternoon tea items like cookies, sandwiches, scones, and mini-muffins are full of gluten. I had the best gluten-free afternoon tea I’ve ever had on Mackinac Island, MI, at Grand Hotel, and I’m hooked! Even if you’re not gluten-free, this is an option for you if you have afternoon tea more than once during your visit should you wish to mix it up even further. Read my review of their standard Afternoon Tea here.
Summer Blues
Another part of visiting Grand Hotel that I love is dressing up. Their dress code requires guests to dress a certain way, and it’s the perfect excuse to break out my favorite dresses and go all out. This summer blues look is polished off with pearls and gold accents, plus my new favorite pair of Tieks.
How to Spend a Week on Mackinac Island, MI (Itinerary)
Mackinac Island, MI, is one of my favorite places. It’s so breathtaking every season; no matter how many times we visit or how long our visits last, we never get enough. Over the decade my husband and I have been together, we’ve stayed at Grand Hotel more than 25 times and visited the island even more than that. That’s why I want to share the perfect week we recently spent on the island with you so that you’ll have the ultimate itinerary and know exactly how to spend a week on Mackinac Island, MI.
