I grew up in Petoskey, and I’ve made it my personal goal in life to be very familiar with all of the restaurants in the area. By far my favorite is Thai Orchid, which serves up lots of great Thai food, made fresh from scratch everyday, in-house, with locally sourced ingredients. Each time we visit home, we stop in for crab cheese, Lard Na, a big salad, Tom Yum soup, and to try a new dish.

Thai Orchid has the best Thai food I’ve had in Michigan. It’s always so fresh, so flavorful, and the colors in the food and the produce they use are unmatched. My only compliant with this restaurant is that their hours are very inconsistent and odd, and sometimes when they should be open according to their hours, they are inexplicably closed. We always call to double check that they are open, so I recommend doing that. If they are in fact open, you’re in for a treat!

We love getting the crab wantons, tom yum soup, vegetable lard na, and we always try something new whenever we visit. I have yet to be disappointed. The Pad Thai, Pad See-Ewew, Drunken Noodle, Pattani, Potato Curry, and Pineapple Curry are some of my favorites we’ve tried in the last year or so. They have plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options, and it’s all so delicious!
