Dining here proved to be a lovely experience. We elected to dine outside under the beautiful summer sun, and we enjoyed a gentle breeze and the fresh air that draws people from around the world to Northern Michigan. Our waitress was a lovely lady who had a smile that lit up the entire patio. She helped me select something that was gluten free, and took special care to help us find suitable meals for our preferences and dietary needs.
I absolutely loved my gluten free mushroom and pineapple, hand tossed pizza. It was topped with parmesan cheese and a balsamic vinegar drizzle, which may sound a bit odd, but it tasted simply phenomenal. I know some people think pineapple should never grace the top of a pizza, and even more who find it to be an abomination of sorts, but to them I say “more for me!”. Should pineapple on pizza not be suited to your tastes, fear not, for they have an ample variety of meats, vegetables, and drizzles so that one may customize their pie however they see fit, without fear of discrimination.
In addition to my pizza, we enjoyed a whitefish dish, whitefish dip (a staple of Northern Michigan), and a sampling of desserts, including Italian cannoli, flourless chocolate cake, tiramisu, and a fruity drink. All things were positively excellent, and we had a fabulous time chatting and relaxing on the patio. The tiki torches around the perimeter of the patio were lit by our server, to offer more light and warmth as the sun went down, making the atmosphere more festive.
If you prefer to dine indoors, there are a number of large, flat screen TVs playing sporting events and TV shows, plus there’s a massive, full bar inside. In addition, there are also several different dining rooms, and an extensive wine cellar, which means it’s the perfect place for everything from family gatherings to bachelor parties to celebrate life’s milestones in a fun environment.
