This cozy, sophisticated restaurant in London’s Chelsea neighborhood, on the fashionable King’s Road is an extension of The Ivy restaurants famed around the United Kingdom for their luscious use of foliage throughout their spaces, and refined dining experiences. Tropical bird, botanical, and floral prints adorn nearly every fabric surface of the restaurant, and hundreds of live plants both inside the restaurant and outside on the garden terrace make this cozy spot feel even more intimate and relaxing.
The restaurant has an entire menu for vegetarians and vegans, and they were very happy to help me find something I could eat that didn’t contain gluten. I ordered a vegan fruit plate with vegan coconut “yoghurt” and chia seeds, mixed berry smoothie, and a half grapefruit. Robin ordered the The Ivy Vegetarian Breakfast, which included grilled halloumi, avocado, poached orange hen’s eggs, hollandaise sauce, potato hash, an assortment of wild mushrooms, roast plum tomatoes, watercress and baked beans, as well as gluten-free toast with jam. We also shared a peach & elder flower iced tea, which was very refreshing. Everything we ate was absolutely fantastic, and it was one of our favorite places to eat in London.

Our server was very kind and gave us plenty of advice. When he heard we’d already visited Buckingham Palace from the outside, he let us know that for a few weeks each summer tours of the palace itself are available, which we didn’t know about. We were so thankful to him and the rest of the staff for helping to make our time in London so enjoyable. The garden outside was closed for renovations while we were there, so we didn’t get to enjoy it, but the photos online were enough to encourage us to go back on our next visit.
If you’re looking for a laid back yet elegant spot for brunch with friends, or a beautiful summer meal outdoors, head to The Ivy Chelsea for wonderful food, impeccable service, and a fun, garden atmosphere.

Until next time!

I hope you were lucky enough to be there the weeks the Queen is “on holiday” at Balmoral, so you could tour the Palace. We were fortunate to be in London in very early September, with the Queen still gone, so were able to take the tour. Being the Anglophile I am, I ate this up! What a treat!
