Rosa Negra, or Black Rose in Spanish, is an upscale restaurant, bar, and lounge located on Tulum’s main beach strip, which offers Latin American style delicacies for all dietary preferences.

Rosa Negra (see their menu here) is a fantastic, luxury, eco-chic restaurant located on the beach of Tulum, and it’s the perfect spot for an intimate evening of dinner, drinks, and enjoyment. Their in-house DJ mixes up the best of lounge and chill step music, plus more danceable beats, and the low lighting (shining from locally made, hand-woven lamps and lanterns) adds another level of intrigue and coziness to this already low-key eatery. Rosa Negra offers a wide range of dishes for every diet from those who eat gluten-free, and even vegan dishes to local seafood and grass fed meats.
The dress code is “smart casual”, and most men wore chinos and button downs, while many women wore floor length maxi dresses, or cocktail dresses. Their bar can make any drink under the sun, and the bar tender told me they’ve never had to turn a drink order for being “too out there”. We enjoyed a 5 course meal consisting of local fish, organic produce, and chocolates from the Yucatan peninsula, as well as a wide assortment of cheeses, salads, and drinks. If I learned anything in Tulum, it’s that you get what you pay for, and this place was no exception. The food may have been more on the pricier side (our total was roughly $250 USD with tip), but it was one of the best meals we had in Tulum.
