One of the best places to eat in Harbor Springs is Stafford’s Pier Restaurant, located right next to the Harbor Springs Marina. The restaurant features three unique dining rooms, each with their own beautiful navy and walnut theme, as well as an outdoor dining deck on the water, which is a beautiful spot to eat in the warmer months.
Stafford’s Pier Restaurant boasts freshly caught fish, straight from Lake Michigan, as well as the freshest seafood flown in from around the world, daily. Another reason we love Stafford’s Pier Restaurant, is that they use only the finest ingredients, which are organic and locally sourced whenever possible. The staff are always kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is very upbeat and festive. It’s hard not to feel the excitement of the water when you’re dining so close to it!
We recommend the New England Crab Cakes with sweet corn succotash, remoulade, watercress, Fustini’s Meyer Lemon Olive Oil, Caprese Salad with Scottish Salmon, Stafford’s Morel Bisque, Whitefish Spread with Fennel caper relish, crostini, and crackers, Seared Scallops, Mediterranean Linguine with Scottish Salmon or Shrimp, and the Whitefish Sandwich. For dessert, you can’t go wrong with the Cherry Praline Pretzel Brownie Sundae which features Moomers Cherry Praline ice cream & Sander’s hot fudge, or the Peanut Butter Pie. We’ve eaten here more than a dozen times over the years, and it’s always delicious.
Stafford’s Pier Restaurant also has a beautiful, sunken bar with plush leather seating and liquors and fine wines from around the world. Not just beautiful on the outside, the restaurant also has taken a strong environmentally-friendly stance and uses decor created from recycled sailing rigs, sails, and ropes, so everything around diners was once out exploring the open waters of the Great Lakes and beyond.
