Hotel Walloon in gorgeous Northern Michigan, was the perfect place to spend a long weekend away, and we had an absolutely wonderful time relaxing, reconnecting, and enjoying the scenery. We spent the last Sunday of our visit lounging around the hotel, taking last-minute photos of one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer looks, playing board games by the fireplace, and relaxing by the lake before heading back home.

It was one of the best weekends we’ve had in a long time, because it felt like it lasted forever, in the best way possible. I’m already missing our time at Hotel Walloon because they made us feel so at home. Do you know how sometimes, while you’re traveling, you start to feel burned out and look forward to sleeping in your own bed? Well, we never felt that at Hotel Walloon. It was nonstop fun and peacefulness, which sounds counterintuitive, but this hotel really epitomizes slow living and easy luxury, which is why I included it in my roundup of 15 of the Most Stunning Midwest Luxury Hotels.
During our relaxing, early fall day, I wore this cashmere Kassy Cardigan wrap and the Evangelina Dress in Navy Heart and Sole, both by Lilly Pulitzer, along with an heirloom ring, a cruelty-free diamond necklace from Brilliant Earth (similar necklace here), and my favorite pair of flats. We started our Sunday off at Barrel Back restaurant next to the hotel for breakfast (read all about it here), then relaxed in the hearth room back at the hotel for a bit while talking about our travels.
We headed into Harbor Springs for lunch and ate at Stafford’s Pier Restaurant, and then came back to stroll along the beach and explore Walloon Village a bit more. We played a game next to the fire when we got back inside to warm up, photographed the incredible hall of mirrors, and enjoyed snacks provided by the hotel. The hotel, which is run by a former manager of Ritz-Carlton Hotels, offers an extensive schedule of snacks, hors d’oeuvres, drinks, lite bites, and more the restaurant has out throughout the day, free of charge for guests.

Most guests were somewhere between casual and smart casual around the hotel, and many ladies were dressed like me, some with a heavier sweater or jacket. Hopefully, this gives you a bit of an idea of the relaxed dress code around the hotel. We had a wonderful day relaxing around the cozy hotel, and I couldn’t have asked for a perfect end to our stay.
