Our stay at the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland was punctuated by beautiful local art, relaxing visits to their luxury, in-house spa, and incredible dining experiences. From the moment we checked in until we said our goodbyes, the staff of Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel treated us like family and ensured every aspect of our hotel visit was incredible. I loved the attention to detail that was evident in the service we received, as well as the hotel itself. Although there were hundreds of independent decor elements like tables, chairs, works of art, and games strewn about the hotel, they never seemed out of place or askew.
My favorite part of the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel was the gorgeous, soothing spa. I’ll be devoting an entire blog post to this spa, but I will say that in addition to numerous, organic spa services like massages, facials, Scottish Seaweed ‘ishga’ treatments, and more than 10,000 square feet of hot and cool pools, hot tubs, wet and dry saunas, plus nine luxury treatment rooms, it’s impossible not to feel soothed and relaxed here. Spa services fill up quickly, so be sure to book your appointments early.
Our junior suite was a beautiful two room suite, with chic, minimalist decor, and a floor to ceiling marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub, rain shower, and double wide vanity. The Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel offers more in-room amenities than any other hotel, and has items readily available for guests at no extra charge such as hair styling tools, charging cables and adapters, just about any toiletry you could imagine, and more. We enjoyed complimentary cocktails on the rooftop bar, available to all hotel guests, and soaked in the gorgeous city sunset. Although the hotel was quite busy while we were there, we never heard any other guests or hallway noise, and wondered if the rooms were soundproof.
Both nights of our stay, we dined at the hotel’s in house restaurant, called Bo + Birdie, which is one of the highest rated fine dining restaurants and bars in all of Scotland. True to its reputation, this restaurant exceeded our every expectation and we couldn’t wait for dinner each day we spent in Glasgow before flying home. Keep an eye out for my full restaurant guide including reviews of their signature dishes, signature cocktails, and more.
The only thing I’d change about our stay is that we had a courtyard view rather than view of the city, but that likely helped keep the noise down, so I really can’t complain. Every aspect of our stay was perfect, and we will stay in Kimpton hotels whenever we visit a city that has one for their phenomenal service, outstanding amenities, and posh surroundings.
Until next time!
