The moment I turned 18 I signed up to go sky diving. Sure, it’s not what most people choose to do with their new found adulthood freedom, but I had been dreaming of falling through the clouds ever since I learned skydiving was a “thing”. My first roller coaster ride was on the Millenium Force at Cedar Point IN Ohio (the tallest roller coaster in the Midwest) and that didn’t phase me, so I figured sky diving would be an exciting thing to try! I loved it!
I’ve never shelled out the $95 or so to have my photo taken while I was diving, but I hope to go again this upcoming summer and bring my new GoPro with me, so you can experience the joy of free falling with me!
Being afraid of heights (or anything, really) has never been my style, and I love trying new things, so I wasn’t nervous to go skydiving. In fact, the single engine plane we used to climb up to the appropriate diving height puttered and lurched about so much, that I was ready to jump out by the time we arrived at the proper attitude. Since it was my first jump, I was strapped to the front of the gentleman pictured above, and despite the uncomfortable proximity, it was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done!
The only thing I wish I would have done differently is wear more clothing under my sexy, sexy windbreaker suit, and been honest about how much I weighed. The moment the shoot deployed was unexpectedly painful, but it was really my own fault haha. I was a bit afraid that the harness would break, and I would fall to my untimely demise (don’t ask why, I have no idea lol), so I told them I weigh about 25 more pounds then I really did, so they’d give me the next strongest harness level. Well, that plan backfired because it was way too loose near my thighs and the padding that was supposed to protect me from harness’ chains flipped upside down, and the chains ripped against my thighs giving me some pretty nasty bruises. Like any other minor injury, it healed quickly and I was fine again in no time, thankfully!
Aside from the misspelling of my name, this little piece of paper is one of my most prized possessions, because while it sounds cheesy, it symbolizes how bold and adventurous I am!
Have you ever gone skydiving? Is there something stopping you from going skydiving? What’s the most exciting thing you’ve ever done? Let me know in the comments below!
Farewell, fellow adventurers!

I’m not afraid of heights, and I feel like this would be so much fun! I just have to get up enough courage to do it!

The best time to go is early to mid summer when it isn’t terrible cloudy (you can’t jump if the person you’re jumping with can’t see where they are going lol). Get a group of friends or family and just book the tickets! Don’t overthink it and you’ll have a great time! It’s safer than flying evidently lol
