If you read my Luxury Hotels of the World entry about Hotel Walloon in Walloon Village, you’ll know that this beautiful, tranquil oasis on the short of Lake Walloon was one of my favorite travel destinations in 2018. The hotel has a beautiful wrap around porch, private access to a gorgeous beach, and is located very near other cities like Petoskey, Charlevoix, Traverse City, and Harbor Spring, plus it’s a great place to branch out for day trips to other locations like Mackinac Island or Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The hotel is the perfect space for a bachelorette weekend, rehearsal dinners, family reunions, vow renewals, and it’s especially perfect for romantic weddings! In addition to being a stunning hotel on the water, Hotel Walloon is also home to 3 different, absolutely beautiful wedding venues, The Talcott, Village Green Park, and Hotel Walloon itself.
No matter which venue you select, each rental includes day-of necessities like:
60″ round tables
8′ long tables
cocktail tables with umbrellas
white folding chairs
black or white floor length linens
crisp white linen napkins
a dance floor
stage area for DJs
marble topped bars
assistance booking vendors
set up and tear down of event space
This means you and your bridal party can kick back and relax, while the masters of event planning and hosting make your wedding day dreams come true!
The Talcott is a gorgeous indoor/outdoor venue directly across the street from Hotel Walloon and its private beach that was previous a boat building school. The Talcott is surrounded by beautiful, blooming flowers, and vintage string lights twinkle like stars above guests heads outside. The indoor portion includes a high barrel ceiling, bright and airy whitewashed walls, and a number of rafters perfect for hanging wedding day decor. The outdoor section features fire pits, tables for cocktail hours, serving hors ‘doeuvres, or for guests who want to relax beneath the stars. This venue can accommodate up to 240 guests.
Village Green Park is perfect for weddings with 250 people, and is an outdoor space that overlooks the gorgeous, blue waters of Lake Walloon. If you’re looking for a stunning, spacious area to pitch a tent and celebrate your big day as the sun sets, Village Green Park is the perfect location!
Hotel Walloon itself is a very unique venue, because the entire hotel can be booked for events like weddings. This means you and your loved ones can celebrate and stay in one place, with no need to arrange transportation, decorate multiple locations, or stress over day-of preparations. Everything from meals to music can be arranged by Hotel Walloon’s staff, and the all 32 rooms in the hotel are completely soundproof, meaning that if you rent out the entire hotel and want to keep the party going long into the night, guests who elect to retire early can sleep soundly while you enjoy the wedding festivities with your loved ones. Inside the hotel there is everything people could need to have a great time, from a private bar and an endless supply and variety of board games to a large, carefully curated library, valet parking, and next-level cooking. Hotel Walloon is an absolutely stunning venue option, especially for those who wish to be married on the water.
Having visited Hotel Walloon several times, I can say that the staff are absolutely phenomenal, and that their wedding planning and venue services are top-notch. If you go with Hotel Walloon for either your venue, or as part of your honeymoon, you’re going to have an excellent, romantic experience!
