We haven’t been able to golf in more than a year, but I realized I never wrote about how much fun we have whenever we golf at Charlevoix Country Club in Charlevoix, Michigan, so I thought why not day dream about better days ahead by reflecting on one of my favorite Michigan golf courses?

I’m not a very good golfer by any stretch of the imagination, Robin is much better than I am, but I do really love getting out there anyway. We usually book our tee times at either the very first slot available first thing in the morning so I don’t hold anyone up because I do play a bit slower than most, or the very last late in the evening. On days where I want to practice a bit more, we will just book the first 2 slots so no one is held up waiting for me and my slow golfing style.

Thankfully, I’m getting better than I was when I started playing in high school. I had planned to take golf lessons in 2020 to improve my swing and my overall golf game, but we all know how that year went. Hopefully I can fit a few in this year or the next, because golf is such a great past time and there are few things more refreshing than riding around a golf course first thing in the morning as the dew dries and the sun begins to warm up the air, and getting some exercise. It’s always so peaceful and quiet.

Charlevoix Country Club’s golf course is an 18-hole, four-star Jerry Matthews design, and it’s open to both Charlevoix Country Club members as well as the public. it’s gentle rolling hills, strategically placed bunkers and water hazards make it a perfect course for beginners or intermediate players.

We loved golfing here as the sun rose on a crisp autumn morning, and I hope we can visit again soon!
