Colorful Lilly Pulitzer prints and Charleston’s charm go together like fish and water, which is why I was so excited to style a few of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer pieces, like this “Fishful Thinking” print dress, during our time in Charleston. My husband even got in on the festive, nautical print action by pulling out some of his Lilly Pulitzer collection for our trip. Here’s what we wore during our recent visit to the South Carolina Aquarium & Sea Turtle Care Center!

I love tie-shoulder dresses, and this Lilly Pulitzer dress with a smocked top and soft, swishy layers in a fish print motif (also in pink) was so cool and comfortable under the warm Charleston sunshine. It even has pockets, which is something I absolutely love to see in my dresses! I wore my normal size in this dress, but I could have easily sized down for a more fitted look or sized up for a looser, more billowy fit because of the smocked bodice. This is going to be something I wear all summer long, no doubt about that!
While Lilly Pulitzer didn’t make men’s shorts that matched my dress, my husband had these “Get Nauti” men’s shorts from a few years ago that he wanted to wear while we went out sailing on the water after we visited the aquarium. We saw dolphins and what may have been jellyfish in the distance, which was so exciting because neither of us had ever seen anything like that before in the wild! The blues in his shorts coordinated really well with the blues in my dress, which is one reason we are both fans of the brand – we can easily coordinate our outfits if we want!

Keep an eye out for more of what we did (and wore) during our week in Charleston. I can’t wait to share all of the amazing things we experienced with you! Maybe it’s just “Fishful Thinking,” but our visit to Charleston was one of my favorite trips we’ve ever been on, and I really think you’re going to love what I have coming up in the next week or so – I can’t write fast enough!
Thank you, Lilly Pulitzer, one of my very favorite brands, for sponsoring this post!
