Dorada at Casa Marina
Dining by the beach is a true pleasure. There’s nothing quite like eating wonderful food, listening to the waves, and watching the sunset. That’s exactly what we experienced at Dorada, Casa Marina’s Caribbean-focused restaurant. Here’s why you shouldn’t skip Dorada the next time you visit Key West.
Ambience of Dorada
Located on the beach of Casa Marina hotel, Dorada has a fantastic atmosphere. Equal parts elegant and laid-back, we saw people fresh from the beach and people dressed for a night out. So, wear whatever you’re comfortable in and enjoy a great meal!
On the beach, we watched birds dive for fish, admired their Lilly Pulitzer beach umbrellas, and savored the breeze off the ocean. It was a bit chilly later in the evening, so be sure to bring a sweater, cashmere wrap, or something similar to stave off the cold. They also had a sand artist finishing up a few sculptures along the beach while a musician played music near the swimming dock.
Overall, it was perfect!
Our Meals
We started off with Key West Ceviche and plantain chips. These were SO delicious & fresh!

Pumpkin Coconut Soup was next, and that was immaculate as well. It was served with a bit of She Crab and another plantain chip, in case we thought they were sorry for the absolute mountain they gave us with the ceviche. (Joke’s on them, we couldn’t get enough!)

Next up was a (gluten-free) Caesar salad for me. I always get the dressing on the side because I like to control the salad dressing ratio. My husband ordered the Pasta y Frutos Del Mar, which he really liked, too. Both were 10/10!
The Verdict
We loved dining at Dorada! The food was fresh and flavourful, the waves were melodic and relaxing, and the sunset was the best of our entire trip. I’d love to dine here again someday. How gorgeous was this sunset?
