I have always loved mixing textures, prints, and sometimes even seasons of clothing, so it felt appropriate to blend together a little bit of each of these things in today’s post. I have more than a dozen eyelet dresses, but this Kiel James Patrick dress, which also comes in a light blue, is one of my favorites, because it’s so easy to wear, it’s effortlessly sophisticated without being “too much” and it can be easily dressed up or down, as I did with this denim jacket from Everlane.
We recently visited our local farmer’s market, and I thought this would be the perfect simple yet feminine outfit for picking out some local produce. I paired it with this 100% genuine straw hat, which is only $22 at Target, and this handwoven seagrass tote I bought a few years back to play off of the casual elements of the outfit. In the summer I generally wear either sandals or trainers, so it was a simple choice to go with my favorite white Jack Rogers sandals to polish off this casual summer look.
While normally I wouldn’t want to be hot and wear bulky layers in the summertime, this jacket is so comfortable, breathable, and cool that I felt cooler with it on and blocking the sun than I would have without it. I found that the dress, my jacket, and my sandals were true to size, so if you’re considering adding one to your wardrobe, know that you can wear your usual size!
