Delamar Southport
The next stop on my adventure through Connecticut was in Southport, CT. Located along the coast on Long Island Sound, Southport is beloved for its fantastic food scene, welcoming harbor, and great shopping. We chose to stay at the Delamar after a great stay at their West Hartford location, and it was the perfect spot from which to explore the city.

Arrival
Arrival was as simple as pulling up, walking in, and, after a quick ID check, being on our way to our room. Valet parking is included, and bellhops are eager to help guests with their bags. It couldn’t have been any easier to get settled in.
Our Room & Hotel Amenities
Our room was located on the ground level, with a street view. Despite that, we didn’t hear anyone walking above us or any cars outside. We only stayed for one night here in a standard room, but it had everything we needed, like slippers and a steamer, so it was perfect for our needs. Plus, the bed was SO comfortable, and the aircon worked so well we didn’t need it on for more than a few moments to cool the room despite the 90º+ heat outside.
Our white marble bathroom was spacious, with a marble-and-glass shower as well as a wide vanity with a well-lit mirror. BVLGARI toiletries, Delamar’s signature across their Connecticut properties, smelled delightful.
Delamar Southport had plenty of awesome perks, like complimentary Connecticut Art Trail passes, which offer discounts and complimentary admission to more than 30 museums across CT, and access to the Equinox gym across the street. I think that’s even better than if the Delamar had its own gym, because we were able to join a group fitness class, use weight machines, and hit the elliptical before a good stretching session. Then, we showered off and relaxed in Equinox’s saunas. The concierge told us that Equinox access is available to all Delamar guests for the entire day each day of their stay.
Another great perk at Delamar Southport is that breakfast is included each morning. They also offer a great assortment of welcome amenities, like prosecco or wine, along with a variety of foods, like our gorgeous fresh veggie platter.
Artisan

The Verdict
We really enjoyed our stay at Southport’s top-rated hotel. The food was great, the service was attentive, and the location was perfect. They even charged our electric vehicle for us and left cookies on the nightstand. Valet parking is included, and the convenience of having everything at hand is unmatched. It’s a great place to stay in Southport, and we hope to visit again someday.
