Inspired by world famous photographer Slim Aaron, and summers aboard a yacht in the Mediterranean, Chuc’s Café in South Kensington, London is a gorgeous vignette of summer memories, adventure, and bold colors. This gorgeous café was a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of London’s South Kensington District, where we stayed at the Kensington Hotel, and took us right back to our adventures in Italy, not so long ago. The blue and white color scheme, the beautiful miniature orange trees, and the freshly imported Italian ingredients were a delight we won’t soon forget.

We arrived around 9:00 am and only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table for 2. We sat outside on the patio, and enjoyed the beautiful morning under sumptuous umbrellas, atop cushioned benches and a gold tone brushed tabletop. Their menu isn’t very large, but they certainly have something for all diets and preferences. For instance, I was able to easily order something that was both gluten free and vegetarian, with no trouble at all.
I selected the Vegetarian Full English Breakfast, which consisted of two duck eggs over easy set upon a piece of grilled halloumi cheese, baked beans, sautéed mushrooms, roasted tomatoes, spinach, potatoes and gluten free sourdough toast. Everything was positively phenomenal!

The staff were friendly and prompt, the food was great, the location was convenient, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and I would love to return again someday to try more of their famous dishes like their Italian fruit smoothies or vegan yogurt and fruit bowls. If ever you find yourself hungry in South Kensington, pop round to Chuc’s Café and enjoy a slice of the Mediterranean in London.
