We had a wonderful weekend in Carmel, Indiana this past weekend, and it quickly became one of my favorite midwest cities! I absolutely loved everything about this town, from the adorable B&B we stayed in and the incredible food we sampled, to the plethora of activities the city offers and endless kindness of the residents. If you’ve never been to this Indianapolis suburb, you should add it to your list!
The Art Gallery of Ontario was one of my favorite art museums I’ve ever been to (and I’ve been to dozens!). From the flow of the exhibits, to the use of lighting and negative space, each exhibit was uniquely contrived to draw viewers in and create a unique space for local and international artists alike to share their
Tulip Time is a lovely festival that takes place each spring in Holland, which celebrates Dutch heritage, Dutch dancing, Dutch fashion, and of course iconic Dutch tulips. Millions of tulip bulbs are planted every fall by volunteers and city staff, and they burst into colorful bloom late April to early May, just in time for, well, Tulip Time!
Zak Ik is a luxury boutique inside Azulik Resort, underneath Kin Toh Treetop Restaurant in Tulum, Mexico that sells everything from shoes, handbags, and totes to dresses, tops, swim coverups and more. Before entering, we were asked to remove our shoes in order to “connect with the Earth”, and it was only the beginning of […]
The ruins of Tulum were one of the highlights of our visit to the area. Built more than 1,000 years ago, these stunning relics of the past are a great way to experience the history of the people who originally inhabited this area. For only $10 USD/person, visitors can walk through this ancient Mayan site
Although we had to cut our trip short because I became extremely sick and needed to come home, we had such an incredible time in Mexico this past month! We were able to stay in 8 different cities and pass through a number of others, and it was an adventure unlike any other! I’d been […]
Querétaro has a vibrant arts and cultural scene, and they also have some incredible local dishes inspired by tradition and their unique climate. While I was researching where to go on our trip to Toronto, one building really stood out to me: Casa Loma. The Edwardian building jumped out at me, because it’s the only castle in a bustling metropolis, so it obviously stands out. The 98 room castle was built in the early 1900s by a wealthy […]
Colmar, France is a beautiful village in the heart of the Alsace wine region of France. This village is famous for many things, such as being the inspiration behind the village in Beauty and the Beast, it was the home of the creator of the Statue of Liberty Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, and is filled with tiny canals, earning it the moniker “Little Venice”. Located about one hour across the French and German border, this small town was full of classic French cuisine and specialty wines, beautiful gift shops, and brightly colored buildings.
Tucson, Arizona is a beautiful city located an hour north of border the state shares with Sonora, Mexico, situated in a valley surrounded by breathtaking mountains on all sides. We spent a week there during monsoon season this year to celebrate my sister’s graduation from nursing school, and we spent our time exploring the beautiful […]
