One of my favorite things about traveling is seeing new plants, visiting gardens, and learning more about how local history influenced the area’s garden design (or vice versa!) The gardens at Biltmore Estate were a bit sparsely planted, but part of that is due to the fact that we visited in September. Still, the estate’s conservatory and greenhouses were stunning and filled to the brim with tropical plants, rare varieties of variegated houseplants, and beautifully tended orchids.
