I’ve always been a fan of Laura Ashley‘s fun, vibrant, and timeless clothing, home furnishings, and decor, which is why I’m so excited to partner with them to share how we redecorated our guest bedroom. Taking inspiration from the outdoors, I sought to create an indoor oasis from the cold, reminiscent of my favorite botanical gardens, making summer feel like it lasts a bit longer. I loved mixing Laura Ashley’s elegant floral prints, like Spring Bloom, Sage Floral, and Leaf Vine, to create a tranquil, botanical filled retreat.

I try to bring elements of the outdoors indoors, as much as possible, like our more than 100 houseplants, botanical prints, soft organic colors, earthy stoneware, and window boxes that bloom brightly in the spring and summer, overflowing with vibrant color, offering visitors a sweet view to start their mornings. To this end, I selected the Natalie Sage Duvet Cover Set, which is reversible in a beautiful sage green that I used throughout the room. One side has stripes and the other an easy to match botanical print The also set comes with the striped throw pillow shown above, a floral throw pillow shown below, and two standard shams.

As a throw blanket, I added this ultra soft and warm Dylan Duck Egg Check Cotton Throw Blanket, which is one of my favorite blankets in our entire home. The sage, beiges, and blues tie in the colors of the throw blanket and the rest of the room, perfectly mimicking the colors of nature outside.
As an added comfort to the room, and to tie in a few more ecological accents, I added a rattan tray, a painted pillar candle, glass fern trinket tray, journal and coordinating pen to make the space feel more inviting. Now that we live on the opposite side of the country as much of our family, we want them to feel comfortable and welcome, which is why little touches like this were so important to me.
Previously, our guest room had been decorated in shades of blue, but by shifting to greens and natural materials, it’s now an endlessly tranquil room that I know we will love, particularly in the winter while the greenery that we love so dearly hibernates. We did however, keep the blue and white ginger jars on the dresser, just as they were before, for an unexpected pop of color that ties in neatly with the shades of blues, greens, and beiges throughout the room.
I couldn’t be happier with the quality, colors, and easy decorating process of shopping with Laura Ashley, and I love how our guest room turned out. These are some of the most beautiful linens we own, and I am delighted by the luscious botanical prints every time I enter the room, which instantly relaxes me. I hope our guests will feel the same way!
