If I visit a place that offers Afternoon Tea, I’ll clear my schedule to indulge, particularly when they’re able to accommodate my gluten-allergy and give pescatarian-friendly options, like Afternoon Tea at Astor Court inside St. Regis Atlanta in beautiful Atlanta, Georgia. Maybe it’s because while attending the University of Michigan, I resided within the all-girls dormitory Martha Cook where we had weekly afternoon tea, or that every place does it in its own special way. Still, I never get tired of afternoon tea. Afternoon Tea at Astor Court was among the loveliest and most delicious afternoon teas I’ve encountered! While Astor Court’s afternoon tea can accommodate gluten allergies, not everything in these images is gluten-free, as my husband can eat gluten.

The Ambience
Newly redecorated, Astor Court is a stunning space filled with color, texture, and an inviting atmosphere that encourages guests to have fun and revel in their meal or afternoon tea. Located just above the lobby of St. Regis Atlanta, the bright colors of the interior are reflected and magnified, brought to life, and personified within each layer of afternoon tea.

Bright jewel tones and bold florals are playful yet elegant and lend a sense of wonder and fantasy to the space, making it easy to allow one’s worries to drift away while indulging in afternoon tea. The tablescape was even more fantastical, with floral and bird motifs, which I’m told frequently change to reflect the season and holidays. Fresh flowers, gleaming teapots, and coordinating teacups dotted the table, and we were given plenty of options for tea or libations of a stronger nature.

The soft chatter of other guests drifted up towards us, giving it an intimate café-like ambience which I adore, especially after spending so long isolated from others during the pandemic. This space was dreamy and serene while being laid-back and sophisticated.

Astor Court & Afternoon Tea
As I mentioned, the staff is willing to go above and beyond to cater to dietary needs and restrictions, particularly if you give them 24-hour notice. An assortment of sandwiches, pastries, pudding, biscuits, quiche, and scones accompany afternoon tea, and the result is pretty as can be. I had so much fun photographing this assortment of delectable desserts, so hopefully, these will tempt you to visit St. Regis Atlanta’s Astor Court whenever you’re in the area and seek out a local tea shop.
After all, we must take a little time for ourselves whenever possible to relax and slow down.
Final Thoughts
Afternoon Tea at Astor Court was splendid. The service was top-notch, the selection was unmatched, and the artistry exhibited in each bite was a form of art. I’ll return the next time I’m in Atlanta!
