A Mangrove Blue Springtime

Nothing says classic New England style quite like blue and white. The largest portion of my closet, which is organized by color, is blue and white. Something about it is so timeless, so lovely, and so flattering that it’s difficult to say no to a pretty blue and white dress like this mangrove blue one from Beyond by Vera’s Goan Summer collection (currently on sale!). I wore this in another colorway in Atlanta, GA, last year, and it’s still one of my favorites. Of course, I had to bring this new one to Mayflower Inn & Spa, where we celebrated the return of spring and the warmer weather that comes with it.

This dress is so darling and flattering. It was in the mid-80s during our visit to Mayflower Inn & Spa, but the crisp, cool cotton of this sustainably made dress kept me comfortable. It’s amazing how much selecting the correct fabric for a garment can impact the wearer’s enjoyment. I’ve been a fan of Beyond by Vera (formerly Monsoon & Beyond) for about a year. These dresses are true to size, so be sure to check the size chart before you order. I’m wearing an XS here, though before I lost 15 pounds, I wore a small in this same style, which you can see here. This dress buttons beneath the bust and ties at the chest, making it super comfortable, easy to toss on, and gives the dress a relaxed feel. I can see myself wearing this around gardens, museums, while sightseeing and exploring new places. It’s easy to pack, and the sturdy cotton construction means wrinkles easily fall out with a quick steam or iron, so it’s a great vacation dress, too.
