In the summertime, if I’m wearing shoes, the chances are that they’re white tennis shoes. Crisp, clean, white sneakers add a pop of refreshing brightness to any outfit, and I love how they contrast with a summer tan or bright summer colors. I’ve tried lots of great white shoes in my life, but the 3 pairs I’m going to share with you today have by far been my favorite in terms of how they look, how they feel, how long they take to break in, and how easy they are to keep clean, and a few other factors. I hope this helps you find a pair of shoes you love!
APL: Athletic Propulsion Labs Techloom Sneakers
In terms of comfort, style, and durability, APL is one of my favorite brands to wear for tennis shoes. The shoes have excellent arch support inside, and the footbed is very cushioned, meaning my feet stay comfortable even during high-impact activities like running. I love that these shoes have a stretch opening, in addition to laces, because they don’t budge unless I want them to.
Despite being so comfortable and well-padded, the shoe’s soles are very flexible, making them easy to move in. This flexibility allows my feet to bend and stretch as necessary, contributing to them being some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. These shoes are also very lightweight, which makes me forget I’m even wearing them.
I found that there was no break-in time and that these are very comfortable right out of the box. I wear my normal size in these sneakers.
Overall, I’d give these tennis shoes a perfect score; there’s nothing I’d change about them!
M. Gemi Palestra Due
These Italian leather shoes (last worn here and here), which are handmade, are so chic and comfortable that I’ve been giving them as gifts to my friends and family. As with all leather shoes, the longer I wear them, the more comfortable they become over time, which means they keep getting better. The soles of these shoes are lightweight, and they look even more elevated than a standard pair of tennis shoes.
I wore my normal size in these, and I did not think they had any break-in period where they hurt my feet, thanks to the padded tab at the heel of each shoe that prevents blisters or other injuries to the heels of the wearer. When I first started wearing this pair, I thought the shoe was the tiniest bit stiff, but the more I’ve worn it, the more it’s conformed to my foot and come to be one of my favorite pairs of shoes.
These shoes are of excellent quality for the price, and since they’re handmade in Italy from a woman-owned company, what more could you ask for?

Amazon Sneaker
Available in 8 different colors, these sneakers (worn here, here, and here) are the best budget shoe I’ve ever worn. I put about 500 miles of walking on these shoes this year alone, and they never once let me down. Cleaning them was as easy as removing any visible dirt with a damp cloth, disinfecting the bottoms, and tossing them in the wash, and they look brand new again. The only reason I stopped wearing these was that I wore them so much that I wore through the sole of the shoe, haha.
These shoes had no break-in period, they were immediately comfortable with a soft, cushioned sole, and for less than $40 with 8 color options, these are pretty great shoes. When I ordered these back in March, there were around 20 color options, so they may bring back even more, like the pastel options they had. I wore my normal size in these.
I still think the APLs I mentioned above are far superior shoes in terms of looks, comfort, durability, and quality. Still, if you’re looking for a comfortable shoe to put through the wringer on a budget, these are a great option!
