12 Fun Things to Do at The Colony Hotel
There are plenty of fun things to do at The Colony Hotel. That’s one of (many) reasons we elected to stay here during our time in the Palm Beaches. It’s the perfect place for a romantic getaway, bachelorette weekend, or staycation. Here are 12 fun things to do at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.
1. Enjoy a Slow Morning with Breakfast in Bed
The rooms at The Colony Hotel are so beautiful, it’s almost difficult to leave. So, savor the gorgeous decor designed by Kemble Interiors, and call up breakfast favorites like a granola parfait, avocado toast, a tropical fruit platter, pancakes or French toast, and plenty more, all day long.
2. Lounge on the Beach
The Colony’s Beach Butlers will set up the perfect beach day for you, drinks, snacks, chairs, umbrellas, towels, and more– you won’t need to lift a finger! Just don’t forget your sunscreen & a great book.
3. Grab a Coffee and Bike Palm Beach
Head to Pink Paradise Café inside The Colony Hotel, grab a coffee, tea, fresh juice, and/or pastry, and ask the bellhops to bring you a bike. The Colony Hotel offers complimentary cruiser bike rentals (and helmets!) for guests.
Take a ride down scenic Palm Beach Lake Trail, and find a spot to enjoy the beautiful Palm Beach weather.
4. Explore the Area in Style with Volvo
Feel like shopping or sightseeing, but not wearing an outfit compatible with a bike? Ask for a ride with the hotel’s on-demand drives.
Alternatively, you can ask to charter a gorgeous Land Rover Defender 110 or Beach Buggy (in The Colony’s signature pink, of course!). It’s the perfect way to cruise around town, and the drivers will take you anywhere on the island you need to go!
5. Soak Up the Sun Poolside
The Colony’s pool is as iconic as its pink exterior and vibrant interior. Sit poolside with your favorite book or a magazine borrowed from Poolside Press. Speaking of Poolside Press, they offer complimentary refreshments, sunscreen, and more.
6. Swim
A pool like that is too pretty not to swim in. It’s perfect for a relaxed day in the water, sans jellyfish. There’s a changing room and outdoor shower next to the outdoor bar beside Swifty’s.
7. Go Shopping
Worth Ave. is a world-famous shopping destination. With stores like Gucci, Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Lilly Pulitzer, Max Mara, Stubbs & Wootton, and Coastal Girls Co., it’s a great place to spend an afternoon building a new wardrobe.
Don’t feel like leaving the hotel? The Colony sells gorgeous momentos in the lobby, cute souvenirs in Pink Paradise Café, luxe toiletries in Madison Apothecary behind and above the concierge desk, and, best of all, they have an in-house Dolce & Gabbana shop!
8. Lunch with Friends
Invite your friends and loved ones to lunch at Swifty’s, the hotel restaurant. The staff is amazing, the chefs can accommodate just about any allergy or dietary restriction, and the food is some of the best we’ve ever had.
9. Play Backgammon in the Lobby
The hotel’s lobby is so much more than a pretty place to check in and out. Enjoy drinks, flip through a carefully curated selection of coffee table books, and play backgammon on a beautiful rattan backgammon board.

10. Listen to Live Music Poolside
Every day there’s live music out by the pool, though the time varies. Ask the concierge for a schedule of live music, and enjoy one of the best performances in all of Palm Beach.
11. Play Bingo & Trivia
Backgammon isn’t the only game The Colony offers. Mondays are trivia night in the lobby, and Sundays are for bingo. Speak to the front desk to reserve your spot!
12. Watch the Stars with a Drink in Hand
Palm Beach is a great spot to enjoy a night stargazing. We had ultra-clear stars during our stay, and we were surprised by how bright the stars were. Grab a drink, relax outside on the lounge chairs, and let the evening take you away.
